Hello. I'm Jayne Storey. Welcome to my Author Page! My passion is helping those who love competitive sport attain a state of relaxed concentration (akin to the zone or flow) and release their fundamental movement skills in high-pressure situations like competition. My expertise is based on a lifetime’s personal practice and teaching of meditative breathing (Ch’an and Zazen), alongside ancient movement arts including Chi Kung, Kung Fu and Tai Chi. For almost two decades I conducted my own independent research into how these arts could be of benefit to athletes and I now enjoy helping those who perform the complex movement skills involved in competitive sports release these skills naturally and spontaneously in high-pressure moments, using simple principles from these disciplines. My work is verified by the latest research from sports-science and neuroscience to be conducive to reducing anxiety and mental interference and enabling access to the zone or flow, the coveted yet often elusive state necessary to excel in competitive and performance situations. My unique method Chi-Performance (Established 2002) has a world-wide following from athletes in more than twenty different countries around the world. I have coached golfers and tennis-players of all levels including members of the Professional Golfers’ Association, World Golf Teachers’ Federation, the Ladies European Tour, the European Challenge Tour, the Senior Tour, Sussex Golf College, Berkhamsted Elite Tennis Academy and David Lloyd Health and Fitness Clubs. Other athletes who’ve benefited from working with me include cyclists, endurance athletes, figure-skaters, gymnasts, swimmers, skiers and snowboarders. My work has been featured in a number of publications including Golf International, Atlantic Golf and Lifestyle, Kingdom, Women’s Golf Journal, Sports Coach, Cosmopolitan and Zest. I have also appeared on BBC television and radio, and in the Daily Mail and the Sunday Times. I am based in Berkshire, UK and work with students in person and online.
