Lulu James is an up-and-coming author & publisher. Though an islander at heart, she grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL, devouring sushi and Filipino cuisine, playing tennis, DIY-ing, organizing her home (loves interior design), and painting abstract art. She started her publishing company in July of 2022 with two goals in mind: to create awareness of mental health disorders and lessen the stigma towards them, and to spread the word on the crucial importance of self-love and self-compassion. She believes that everyone deserves peace and happiness. When asked to offer a dozen things people should know about her, Lulu says she: • Is an author and publisher who did not think she would actually be doing these two amazing endeavors in the next chapter in her life. • Kissed the love of her life, her best friend, in college • Lived in a gorgeous big nipa hut in the Pacific. (Look up nipa hut.) Amazing way to feel the breeze in the tropics. Felt like her home was a resort. • Earned a paycheck throwing away old shoes that people left at the store, while they stole new ones • Also earned a paycheck piercing babies’ ears at a local retail store. Not fun! Poor babies. • Stands in awe of patient, composed, and diplomatic people • A Scorpio – passionate or intense (depends on whom you ask), loyal, brave, honest, and determined. • Loves reading psychological thrillers and romance books • Growing up, she excelled at playing marbles, Chinese garter, bato-lata (look it up), and tag. • Snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef..Nah! She wishes she did. She snorkeled at some lakes in the Midwest. • Firmly believes purging items at home is fun and cathartic • Survived acupuncture, cupping (which is nothing like spooning), and birth-giving to two boys • Discovered that life’s second chapter is the sweetest Lulu loves to hear from her readers.
