Matt Conant is a screenwriter, novelist, director, and show creator based in Los Angeles, with specialties in comedy, sci-fi, and genre properties. He has co-developed original series for networks including Amazon Studios and HBOMax, and his involvement in development on TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 helped lead to its relaunch in 2017. He is a writer on both MST3K (Netflix) and The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Live Tour. Matt runs Cinevore Studios, which has produced digital comedy series including Nerd vs. Geek, OverAnalyzers, and Victorian Cut-out Theatre. His first novels, the Parallax trilogy, written with co-author Lauren Cipollo, debuted in April 2024 from Aethon Books and Book 1: Origin became a #1 Amazon Bestseller in Science Fiction. A huge fan of tabletop role-playing games and gaming in general, Matt is featured on the Actual Play podcast Hella XP, and he is developing a sci-fi TTRPG with co-author Lauren Cipollo based on the Parallax universe. Matt graduated Temple University Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Film & Media Arts.
