Nicholas Burns is an American living abroad since January 2020. He grew up in Connecticut, but has also lived in Philadelphia, South Carolina, New York, Hawaii, and San Francisco. He was previously a U.S. Navy submariner as a nuclear electronics technician onboard the USS Bremerton based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He has worked in the United States, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Israel, Ireland, and Singapore. He lives in Singapore with his wife Jessica and their dog named Kahloo. At work, he currently manages a team of engineers in the semiconductor industry for KLA Corporation covering Asia and Europe. In his free time, he enjoys playing chess online, studying Chinese, and traveling around Southeast Asia. Aside from his family and friends, the biggest thing he misses about the United States is the Mexican food, especially having lived in San Francisco.
