The mother of a child with severe ADHD, Rubye Marshal is the passionate author of Beginner’s Guide to Raising ADHD Kids. Rubye is an up-and-coming writer whose goal is to reach parents and caregivers who want to help their ADHD children manage their symptoms in the trenches—in everyday contexts where the conflicts seem endless. Rubye’s journey with ADHD began in adolescence when a close friend received their diagnosis. It was watching that friend struggle which allowed her to recognize similar traits within her own family—and when her daughter’s ADHD was diagnosed, she started researching in earnest, determined to find practical strategies that would help their family’s daily life at home. Rubye is passionate about helping other parents become more sensitive to their child’s ADHD-specific needs. With her writing she hopes to help foster a greater understanding of the issues associated with ADHD and to help parents improve the support they’re able to give their child. She has witnessed the success that is possible when true understanding leads to working with—rather than against—ADHD brain differences and wants to share what she has learned with others who face the same challenges. Rubye lives with her family in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. They love spending free time outdoors in nature, finding countless ways to expend their excess energy together.
