Taleeb Starkes is the author of two Amazon #1 bestsellers: “Black Lies Matter” and “The Un-Civil War: Blacks vs. Ni**rs.” His most recent book, “The Gospel of Knee-sus and Religion of Victimanity,” uses a biblical format to tackle Colin Kaepernick’s hypocritical “black lives matter” stance comically. Raised in Philadelphia, Pa., Taleeb spent nearly two decades mentoring at-risk, inner-city youth. He credits his public housing upbringing for fostering an ability to relate to juvenile delinquents and dependents. Empowerment is his primary tool to dissuade people (young people, mainly) from the lure of the victim mentality, which he had once been a subscriber. Determined to stay on the front line of upliftment-based outreach and cultural awareness, Taleeb co-wrote and produced an award-winning documentary in 2012 entitled “Mothers of No Tomorrow.” This riveting film displayed the detrimental effects of urban terrorism (gun violence) in America’s inner cities. It also highlighted an ever-growing sorority of grieving mothers who were involuntarily united through the senseless murder of their children. In 2016, Taleeb recorded a viral five-minute video titled “The Top Five Issues Facing Black Americans.” His controversial list continues to stimulate online conversation.
