Great narrator...okay story
Reviewed: 09-06-18
The story was kind of long and drawn out...the ending was very disappointing. I guessed what the ending was about half way through and was hoping that wasn’t what would happen..but it did. It was good enough that I’ll keep listening to this narrator and author.

This book is young adult vs what I’m used to with Molly Harper but it’s still really well done and worth it. I listened to the whole thing in one day and loves every minute.

Story
Maybe Dolan has lived independent, free-spirited and unattached since leaving home at 16. Whiskey Sharp, Seattle's sexy vintage-styled barbershop and whiskey bar, gave her a job - and a reason to put down roots. Cutting hair by day, losing herself drumming in a punk rock band by night, she's got it good. But a longtime crush that turns into a hot, edgy night with brooding and bearded Alexsei Petrov makes it a hell of a lot better. Maybe's blunt attitude and carnal smile hooked Alexsei from the start. Protecting people is part of his nature.

There wasn’t really a point to this book. The couple had known each other for years and were already in love basically. No build at all. Waste of time. I almost quit listening 5 or 6 times but ended up finishing..pointless

She takes my breath away; she is so beautifully damaged. Yes, I had broken her, ravished her life, and destroyed her happiness. I brought her to the ultimate despair. I was responsible for all the pain and suffering that now brought her to her knees in front of me. Broken. Hopeless. Reckless in her agony. She is a mirror of my own tortured soul. But what I took away I can give back, in ways she cannot even begin to imagine. She is everything right in all my wrongs.

I started this feeling sad but OMG
Reviewed: 12-07-17
I am in love with this series. I originally purchased these looking for something comparable to the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I was really sad when I finished the last of the original Elder Races books and saw that this is a kind of spin-off that’s U.K. based and basically just takes place in the same world as the other books. This is my favorite book so far. The characters are very well developed with beautiful personalities that get you hooked. I literally listened to this all night. I took some NyQuil and still stayed awake to listen. That’s pretty sick but omg I’m addicted to this series!!! I’m so happy that I have one more book left! I’ll probably be depressed when I finish it though.

A skilled criminal. A beautiful liar. A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover. Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn't leaving until he takes me with him.
