Story
In the beginning, there was darkness. Before he met Callie, before he became the Bargainer, there was Desmond Flynn, the bastard son of a scribe. A boy born to a weak mother, cursed with little magic, and destined to marry a slave. But fate had something else in mind. From the barren caves of Arestys to the palace of Somnia to the streets of earth, this is how Desmond Flynn, a fairy who began with nothing, became the Emperor of Evening Stars.

New favorite narrator!

Hold my book while I search Nathaniel Priestley's other narrated audiobooks. His voice is pure auditory decadence.

Well-written series with lush, detail-filled settings, rich, round characters, and the perfect personalities to keep everything interesting. the narration is awesome and the Christian-based theme of the adventure-fueled romance makes it a pleasure to listen to. I recommend for any age from tween to elder!

Awesome story, amazing narrator

The story is thought-provoking and full of excitement and drama, twists and turns. The characters are full, well-rounded and complex. And the narrator tells it all with perfect, subtle inflection. I appreciate that he doesn't raise the register of his voice too high when narrating for women, merely changes the cadence and inflection just enough so you know who's speaking/thinking. His character and narrator changes are subtle enough that it's not distracting at all to listen to. He has a very soothing voice.
