Death is only the beginning.

I have a lot to learn when I wake up in the afterlife. Never mind that my memories have been erased, but being assigned as a demon hunter, um...yeah, I don’t think so. Physical activity and I aren’t on speaking terms.

Making my supernatural headache worse is my infuriating trainer, Logan. Sparks fly between us immediately - the kind created by our swords and personalities as we clash in and out of the training center.

Just when I think my life - or rather, afterlife - is all punch, stab, rinse, and repeat, I find myself the wielder of the most powerful sword in existence. Sure, it might be cool to ash demons with a single swipe of my weapon, but now Satan is gunning for me.

Logan is the only one I can turn to for help. But the guy has secrets. So until I figure out what they are, I might just be on my own.

My name is Audrey Lyons, and my afterlife is shaping up to be a hot mess and a half.

loved it.

I loved this series! although at first I found it hard to get used to the narrator's accent, she really is perfect for the character. The story also kept me interested from beginning to end. I loved it! I binged the whole series and I dont regret it.

Captures the personality of God-brings tears!

Pros: Yes, this story is fiction; however, being a Christian bible study enthusiast for 20 years, I caught so much of actual scriptures from the bible throughout the story. When it came to the instances where Audrey has meetings with God, I was so emotional from the love, kindness, and forgiveness that I know to be true in my Father God. I was really impressed and moved by the characters & story line. The action scenes were easy to follow as well. There's no sexual scenes or cursing but there will be some description of violence so be aware.
Cons: The voice of Audrey--seriously, slow down the audio speed and you'll be able to enjoy the story. When you listen to the story of Logan, you might want to speed it back up a little. The only other critique I have is of the ending. Felt it didn't really capture the emotions as it should have so I was kind of let down but it does wrap it up somewhat...It's a really good story and I'd listen to this again. I would love to find other audible stories similar to this one.

Wow, this series was so exciting, it made me laugh and cry but most of all made my heart full of love, I hope Heaven is really like that.
I truly recommend reading this series, I extremely enjoyed it! It actually was my second time reading it and now that it's finished I'm wishing there was more.

Such a great adventure and narrator!

Vanessa Moyen killed it again. I love listening to the books she narrates. So good at differentiating the characters throughout.

I will say that I don't think this series would be for an atheist reader. The main characters relationship with God and trusting in God is a large theme throughout.

The beginning of this series is different than books I normally read. Where you get the main story plot and background within the first 2 or so chapters. But it did not deter from the story and really think it added to it. The point where you get the memories from the past really adds into the story and what happens after.

I loved the main character. Her snark and joking and her speak before think attitude. lol. There were some great turns ABC's surprises throughout the series and they really added to the story. I love when there are curveballs in books.

I loved how her relationship with Logan progressed. Their interactions were so much fun to read. The side characters were great too and you really felt bad when they got hurt. And you were rooting for one of the "bad guys".

Best Series Ever

The Life After series is hands down one of the best series I have read/listened to in a long time. It has such a strong and powerful message in it. Vanessa Moyen and Adam Gold really bring Audrey and Logan to life. Logan's companion novel really brings the series to the next level. This is a have to read series!

Lasting impact

The concept of a "waterless" place (pertaining to Christianity) was captured so perfectly by the characters. Each scene is enthralling and vivid, making the messages hit hard. I found revelations in this book that I am so grateful for. The plot twist was awesome too! I love books that leave me changed for the better; filled, and yet hungry for more! I want to buy the paper copy just so I can highlight and refer back to key points that made my heart happy and put a smile on my face. This type of read makes me want to watch an author interview and find more series from Julie Hall.

A beautiful 4,5 stars series

Voice: The female voice of the trilogy is a good fit for the story, easy to listen to and not confusing or anything since the different characters all have their own sort of voice. I love that she did the whole trilogy, well, the main three books that is.
The male voice for the companion story took a while to get used to after listening to the female voice for the first two books. But it wasn’t bad and easy to follow after getting used to. Just the fact that he pronounced ‘ichor’ completely different was a bit of a let down but otherwise the deep voice suited Logan and the different voices for the other characters were a plus, even if it was very different from what you’ve been getting used to by the female voice.

Huntress: 5 stars: I didn’t quite know what to make of this book. The blurb made Audrey out to be this girly girl, the whole “she’d rather discuss the color of her nails than break them on angelic weapons” was an exaggeration in my opinion. Sure, she’s not on board with being assigned the hunter job but more out of doubt than out of annoying “don’t wanna break my nails” type things. I do think that being so infuriated with het mentor Logan is what drives her to go trough the training. Not that she had any say in the matter but still, she’s more fierce than the blurb gave her credit. Naturally I did enjoy this book, the growth that Audrey makes is not too much or too little so very enjoyable and believable.

Warfare: 5 stars:
For me, this was the most epic one, since Audrey had to train a lot first, it wouldn’t make sense to let her deal with demons the entire first book. In this book there is more action. I have to say that this is one of the few books where I don’t find the “being clueless” factor annoying. It’s more a sort of a blunt “act first, think later” kind of thing than thinking through every detail that is given. Since I do think every detail through, it was a surprise for me just how clueless Audrey was at times and to my own surprise that just made me laugh! I think that’s because it fits her character so well, but that’s just a guess. This book had some hilarious parts that had me curling up in silence completely so as to not wake up anyone (it was night at the time). But they were hilarious.

Logan: 5 stars:
I found the companion story about Logan a great addition to the story. It was nice to get to know Logan a bit better and see how his ordeal made him in the Logan we know from the trilogy.

Dominion: 4 stars: This book was good, although I’d rather seen the story evolve in another direction. Ultimately the story felt whole so I enjoyed it nontheless. It did resolve around faith and believing a bit more than the previous books so if it were to offend you by reading the (main) character needing to have faith, this might not be your book or series rather. With the faith and believing part, it feels like a warming story, even if you don’t believe the same things described in these books. And of course, the hunter-parts provide the action again like with the previous books.
