Story
In her memoir You Could Make This Place Beautiful, poet Maggie Smith explores the disintegration of her marriage and her renewed commitment to herself in lyrical vignettes that shine, hard and clear as jewels. The book begins with one woman’s personal, particular heartbreak, but its circles widen into a reckoning with contemporary womanhood, traditional gender roles, and the power dynamics that persist even in many progressive homes.

Story
For much of the 20th and 21st centuries, women’s sexuality was an uncharted territory in science, studied far less frequently - and far less seriously - than its male counterpart. That is, until Emily Nagoski’s Come As You Are, which used groundbreaking science and research to prove that the most important factor in creating and sustaining a sex life filled with confidence and joy is not what the parts are or how they’re organized but how you feel about them.

Story
I almost didn’t publish Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It. Here I was, a CEO who’d fallen apart after his company failed, writing a book about how loving himself saved him. I thought I’d be a laughingstock and my career would be finished. But I stepped through the fears and shared my truth with the world. The book went viral. Amazing people all over bought copies for friends and family. For some, this book saved their lives. For others, it was the first time they ever loved themselves.

A bad revision of the original
Reviewed: 05-09-20
This book was the story of his girlfriend breaking up with him, not about “how to love yourself”. I loved the original book, have listened to it many times. But in this one he reads his blogs posts during a sad, depressed time in his life. He sounds needy & clingy & it never sounds like he recovered from the breakup but obsessed with a woman who didn’t want to be with him. it’s basically the same 5 thoughts stated over & over & over again for 4 hours. No new material & frankly kinda depressing & pathetic. I hope the author gets the helps he needs, the ending left me wondering about his mental/emotional status.

Confused at first....

It is not clearly explained why or how "Abraham" is speaking thru Esther. Does she hear what she saying but these are not her thoughts & ideas? Also her accent & the background music is a bit off-putting. The content was easy to understand & put into practice. I loved the repetition of the themes, makes them memorable.

Too many lists!! Resolutions, Truths, Declarations, so many I can't even "list" them all! Way too complicated!Too much re-reading of other people's books or their research. Every time the author thought of something she went out & bought something: containers, books, journals. Also this book was way too long, get to the point, simplify.
