Story
Marc Maron was a parent-scarred, angst-filled, drug-dabbling, love-starved comedian who dreamed of a simple life: a wife, a home, a sitcom to call his own. But instead he woke up one day to find himself fired from his radio job, surrounded by feral cats, and emotionally and financially annihilated by a divorce from a woman he thought he loved.

At first I was taken aback by the style this book was read. Then after the first few chapters and it not changing, I realized that must have been his style, adding another dimension of the faster, more pressured reading. Between the drugs and women and booze and frustration and unhappiness, it was a life I have found myself drifting towards. This is no longer a problem for me nor is it for him, but I liked the resolution… cheers.

Story
Tom Segura is known for his twisted takes and irreverent comedic voice. But after a few years of crazy tours and churning out podcasts weekly, all while parenting two young children, he desperately needs a second to himself. It’s not that he hates his friends and family — he’s not a monster — he’s just beat, which is why his son’s (ruthless) first full sentence, “I’d like to play alone, please,” has since become his mantra.

“If I were God, what would you want for Christmas?” With a thousand-yard stare, a haggard and bloodied marine looked incredulously at the war correspondent who asked him this question. In an answer that took “almost forever,” the marine responded, “Give me tomorrow." After nearly four months of continuous and bloody combat in Korea, such a wish seemed impossible.

Story
Authors Robin Moore and Michael Lennon team up in this exciting new novel to tell the "fictionalized" stories of the men who have risked it all for the U.S.A.: the Green Berets. They take us from firefights on the Cambodian border during the Vietnam War to the streets and alleyways of Iraq today. They teach us what it was really like to patrol the streets of Mogadishu in the days of Black Hawk Down. They show the horror that was Saddam's Iraq during the first Gulf War. They take us to the moonscape that is Afghanistan in search of the Taliban. The Wars of the Green Berets continues the saga of Moore's classic The Green Berets, revealing more than a few tantalizing secrets and anecdotes for the first time.

Great book explaining what SF and Delta did during OEF/OIF, the Gulf War, and Vietnam. As a former Marine Corps combat infantryman, I noticed a lot of the acronyms that should have been said as one word were said word for word, but that was about all I noticed. I really enjoyed this book. S/F

Story
Raw, straightforward, and powerful, Ed Kugler's account of his two years as a Marine scout-sniper in Vietnam vividly captures his experiences there - the good, the bad, and the ugly. After enlisting in the Marines at 17, then being wounded in Santo Domingo during the Dominican crisis, Kugler arrived in Vietnam in early 1966. As a new sniper with the 4th Marines, Kugler picked up bush skills while attached to 3d Force Recon Company, and then joined the grunts.

In the beginning of the book when Kug mentioned what unit he was assigned to, I was alone in my car and audibly shouted “Wow!” From 2002 -2006 I was in and deployed to Afghanistan twice and Iraq once with his same Marine Corps infantry unit; 3/6 I Co. obviously I wasn’t there but the combat moments, the thoughts going through your head down to the in squabbling. It was spot on. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thanks for doing it real. Semper fi!
