Refreshing take on the military genre!

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this new story while I was browsing through amazon and was happy to see that there was an audible version of it. The story brakes from the usual trope and decisions that the typical OP MC takes. It is very realistic in that a normal human would have reacted the same way when faced with situations of war and violence. The strategies the MC enacts has both balance of great planning and easy to digest combat. Moreover, the narrator performed great with the different voices of both the male/female characters. This new author has become of one of my favorites for 2024. Overall, it was a 5 star story and can't wait for the released of the 2nd book!

Great Continuation!

First of all, I just want to say that Michael Kramer's narration is a legend for a reason and his voice here fit perfectly! Now for the story, I appreciate the expansion of the world and letting us know more about the history of the war, John's powers, and the rest of the world. The action was fun to follow along and the pacing only had a few slow parts. Overall, it was solid and I can't wait for the next book!

The Narration was great and the story flowed smoothly. I really enjoyed how the MC uses both his his brain, magical power, and skills to adapt quickly to his re-incarnated new body's situation. I wish all 3 books in the series would release soon in audible already.

Like most kobolds, Yynnc has learned his lot in life. He'll find peace where he can while being very much aware of how fragile his existence can be in a world filled with creatures and beings more powerful than he. He's happy enough to embrace the life of a fisherman bringing food in for his warren, and live in peace as long as he can.
