Story
Librarian Martha Storm has always found it easier to connect with books than people—though not for lack of trying. She keeps careful lists of how to help others in her superhero-themed notebook. And yet, sometimes it feels like she’s invisible. All of that changes when a book of fairy tales arrives on her doorstep. Inside, Martha finds a dedication written by her best friend—her grandmother Zelda—who died under mysterious circumstances years ago. When Martha discovers a clue within the book that her grandmother may still be alive, she becomes determined to discover the truth.

While I wasn’t sure what to expect, I went in thinking it would be a fun sweet little story. I was not expecting this to be such a powerful little book! You will laugh, you will cry! Just be prepared with tissues! (I wasn’t!)

Definitely A Suprise
Reviewed: 10-05-18
I originally found it a little difficult to get in to the book, but came back to it and found myself surprisingly drawn in. It definitely has some steamy scenes as well as a knack for pulling the reader in to the story. The narrator wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t my favorite. All in all a fun listen.

Overall Sweet Story, But Slightly Annoying Main Character
Reviewed: 07-12-18
I generally loved the story! My only issue was that the last fee chapters, before the end of the book, the main character became very whiny, wishy-washy, and annoying. But it was a lovely story!

Decent Story, Not So Great Narration
Reviewed: 03-01-18
I love Sylvia Day, so I took a chance on this book. The story was decent, though not nearly as enthralling as her other books. The narrator has a lovely voice but is terrible at accents and doing more than one voice, or possibly just male voices. It definitely ditracted from the overall experience.

Extremely Addictive on Many Levels!!!
Reviewed: 01-08-15
Would you listen to Fifty Shades of Grey again? Why?
YES! This novel was so very addicting! I started it to see what all the fuss was about and because the movie was coming out. I started this book and then could NOT put it down! I listened to it almost consistently from the time I woke up until the time I went to sleep for about three days straight!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Shades of Grey?
ALL of it! Every single moment was compelling! There was not a moment that I could find where I felt that I could put it down without wanting more!
What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She read the book well, and I think she did a good job of bringing out the nuances of the character of Anastasia Steel. I'm not thrilled with her voicing of Christian Grey. Although she does well in injecting emotion into the characters.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
She falls fast and hard into the dark controlling arms of Mr. Grey. Can she live the line between walking in the sun and desire in the dark?
Any additional comments?
Do NOT start this book unless you have the time to listen to it from start to finish! It's so incredibly addicting, I couldn't put it down. Not necessarily a great book to listen to at work. It can be quite frustrating. I was so sucked into this book I was laughing and giggling out loud! I felt like I understood and could related to some of the characters on an emotional level. I am compelled into the next book in this series!
