Phenomenal performance

I've stuck it out through so many hours of this series and enjoyed every last one of them. The narration is amazing and the story fantastic. Nicholas and Ben are such well rounded characters, as are the supporting cast within the stories. It's been a great experience so far.

Story
The Cold Case Squad of the NYPD is overworked, understaffed, but receiving great press due to star detective Everett Larkin. His uncanny memory and Holmesian-like skills of deduction have already led to the capture of one serial killer. Now he’s identified a second predator and brought an end to their 20-plus-year reign of terror. Routine construction at a Broadway souvenir shop leads to the discovery of a mummified woman in the wall. And when Larkin receives a mysterious VHS tape that same night, he knows it’s no coincidence.

Unsurprisingly, this series is phenomenal. Everything by this author is phenomenal. The writing and the narrator hit it out of the park. Larkin and Doyle keep me rapt from start to finish. I can't wait for #4.

Story
In the ruins of Caswell, Maine, Carter Bennett learned the truth of what had been right in front of him the entire time. And then it - he - was gone. Desperate for answers, Carter takes to the road, leaving family and the safety of his pack behind, all in the name of a man he only knows as a feral wolf. But therein lies the danger: wolves are pack animals, and the longer Carter is on his own, the more his mind slips toward the endless void of Omega insanity.

TJ Klune is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors. Turning these novels into audiobooks brings amazing stories to a whole new level. I wasn't sure if I would be able to absorb myself in the story of Carter and Gavin, but once again, I found myself stealing every moment I could to listen. Amazing story, phenomenal narration.

Ambrose wakes up on the Coordinated Endeavor with no memory of a launch. There’s more that doesn’t add up: evidence indicates strangers have been on board, the ship’s operating system is voiced by his mother, and his handsome, brooding shipmate has barricaded himself away. But nothing will stop Ambrose from making his mission succeed—not when he’s rescuing his own sister.

I think the title of the review makes my feelings known. What an amazing and heart wrenching novel. The narrator did a phenomenal job bringing this book to life. I was equal parts shocked, crying, and occasionally happy for these characters. This is an original and worthwhile creation. Kodiak and Ambrose broke my heart again and again before putting it back together.
Wow.

Story
Gordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves. It should have been enough. And it was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. In the end, they faced the beast together as a pack… and won.

I've just finished listening to this audiobook and the rest of the series that proceeded it. Kirk Graves does an AMAZING job narrating TJ Klunes work. I found myself laughing, crying, anxious, happy, all of those things and more. Do yourself a favor and listen to all the books. I have read one of them as well, but the narrator here really brings already phenomenal books to a new level.

I have the best luck ever, it’s terrible. You want it? It’s yours. But ask yourself: Do you like being bored all the time because there are no challenges ever? Do you like being surrounded by people because no one will ever leave you alone? (Even in the bathroom, you’ll need to invest in some really good locks.)

Twenty years ago, monsters rose on earth and began a new age of civilization. One where humans live in military-controlled, cramped and dirty cities along the coasts, and the majority of the United States is known as the Wastes. A lawless, desolate and dangerous place, teeming with monsters that have claimed the land for their own. Including Wyn the Soul Eater. He appears every three years, making his way across the country and slaughtering humans randomly, sucking them dry until they’re nothing but husks.

Story
Priddy's a lost soul in a part of Cornwall the tourists don't get to see. He's young, sweet-natured, and gorgeous, but that's not enough to achieve escape velocity from his deadbeat village and rotten family life. He's a drifter and a dreamer, and self-preservation isn't his strong suit. An accidental overdose of a nightclub drug leaves him fractured, hallucinating, with too many vital circuits fried to function in a tough world. When a friend offers him winter work in a lighthouse, he gratefully accepts.
