Story
Romance can be a little complicated when you get sucked into a wormhole. Just ask high school English teacher June Flint. One little solar flare happens and suddenly you find yourself 85 years in the future. Eighty-five years from your dream job. Your ailing mother whose only companion in this world is you. Your favorite stuffed-crust pizza from DeLucia’s on Sunday nights. But when June’s cell phone inexplicably picks up a signal, she’s able to call back to the present—more specifically, four weeks before she accidentally time traveled.

Story
Caroline Wilton has no time for romance. She’s too busy running her family’s bar to even think about dating. She’s also one of Starfall Point’s resident witches, responsible for keeping the local ghost population in check. But even the most magical of witches can use a shoulder to lean on, which is what happens when Ben Hoult, the handsome doctor she never quite got over, walks back into her life. Ben is a single dad now, and as he and Caroline reconnect, they discover that they both have a knack for helping and protecting the people near and dear to them.

Romance and Friendship
Reviewed: 11-01-23
I was so excited when I saw a new book, then a little crushed when I realized the next won't be out for a bit. This little island exists in my brain and randomly pops back in because of the way it pulls you in. This book had a different flavor than the first, I love the character and friendship developments.

Rip off of several other books, obviously mostly hunger games. I usually like Eliza's books, but this one was a slog. I only finished because I hate not knowing how things finish. On that note-spoiler-I know there are sequils, but there was no climax to the final battle. it was like, "Yeah, the end battle happened, and they won." Not anywhere near as much action or suspense as the other battles...

I loved it. It's all it's own with a taste of Charmed, ADHD forgetfulness (spell fog), beach town, money struggles, and multi generational love and trauma. The way it opened is a thread throughout, but darker than a lot of it. I love how it shows that life is messy, but you just keep going.
I mentally yelled at the youngest generation, "Stand up for yourself!! Say 'No' sometimes and why something won't work," but each character had their own journey, thats how i felt in my 20's.
Luce' voice and mannerisms evolved at about book 3, It bothered me at times. I loved Aunt Cass, and could picture her in real life.

Very Cute Story

Lovely to see a lesbian novel without homophobia. only once can I think of something that spins that way, an antagonist making sequel remarks about one of the women.
The parent to child abuse is itchy and painful.
The Russian/Texan accent for a "Woman from Hollywood" (Ruby's mother) is grating. As a person from the western US, it makes me wonder what European people hear with my accent. I'm pretty sure it's not that. I don't know if she was going for aloof plus twang.
Otherwise, I felt the narration was great and the sisters did a good job of smooth transitions.

Story
Henry VIII, King of England and Ireland in the first half of the 16th century, is one of history’s most famous monarchs for many reasons. He ruled ruthlessly, was quick to cry “treason!” and execute, and equally quick to fall in and out of love. Henry changed the religious fabric of England forever and left his mark on the wider world - but what of the six women he took as his queens? From the regal and capable Catherine of Aragon to the patient and generous Katherine Parr, Henry’s wives represented a range of personalities, goals, beliefs, and influences on the king.

Story
The Tudor dynasty died out because there was no heir of Elizabeth I's body to succeed her. Henry VIII, despite his six marriages, had produced no legitimate son who would live into old age. Three of the reigning Tudors (Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I) died without heirs apparent, the most tragic case being that of Mary Tudor, who went through two recorded cases of phantom pregnancy. If it were not for physical frailty and the lack of reproductive health among the Tudors, the course of history might have been different.

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.
