Stories of the ordinary human experience as imagined through the lens of a non-human observer. I really enjoyed it.

Loved the story, loved the narrator. The characters Maeve and Danny spend a lifetime working through the childhood trauma of their mother leaving them. A story of loyalty, love, forgiveness, and resilience.

I enjoyed the wisdom shared in the story. At times I wanted to capture snippets to save. If I had been reading, I would have highlighted and contemplated the phrases.

I might listen to an abridged version someday. Good stories, but not enough to keep me interested for hours and hours per chapter.

I am not able to relate to the author's painful social awkwardness. Unable to finish. The title was chosen by my book club. I didn't attend. How could we sit around discussing a whole bunch of pointless anecdotes?

Remarkable how a story can have so many characters weaved together over generations, alive and not-so-living. I almost needed a character map, but somehow it all came together at the end.
