Not Sure About Virtual Voice

The narration was not robotic or odd; however, it was not nuanced or emotional. There is no vocal change between characters--at all. Which makes it hard trying to keep up when multiple voices should be heard. There is no acting. The tone of voice is the same during a fight scene spewing expletives and a cozy love scene. Overall, it really takes you out of the story.

I love this book! The author has the right amount of down to Earth desperation to avoid her clingy parents, and whacky good natured spirit of adventure. The narration is Southern sassy and perfect for the tone of the book. A light hearted paranormal with lots of charm!

Hellbent was the second book in this series and I feel robbed that I didn't listen to the first book (Bloodshot) prior to enjoying this tale.

Excellent secondary characters, all well written and interesting. This vampire, Raylene Pendle, has surrounded herself with a variety of misfits. Her primary job as a high end thief is challenged by a contract to steal some 'penis bones' for a collector.

You cannot guess where this narrative is going, ever. It's well read by Natalie Ross, who manages to seamlessly voice all the secondary characters and give them individual voices.

I liked this book a lot. I will be getting Bloodshot next!

The Secret is a wonderful read. The story is interesting and plausible with compelling characters. I enjoyed the narration and had no trouble distinguishing character's voices or hearing the words.

This story features conflict between the English/Scottish at the borderlands and how that is distinct from the Highland clans. A very interesting perspective on how the families whose members intermarried might have fared.

I love this tale. Any woman who has given birth will enjoy the heroine's stint as a midwife and her distress at each woman's labor.

This story has it all, murder, mystery and a horrid novelist. It's a wonderful read with just the right amount of historical detail to give it place, without overwhelming the quick moving plot. Barbara Rosenblat does an excellent job reading the book. I lost myself listening to her characters' voices.

Amanda Quick (Jayne Ann Krentz and Jayne Castle) has a deft hand at historical romance. She manages to write a story that features a romantic entanglement but includes lots of other interesting plot elements. I enjoyed it tremendously.

If you like Amelia Peabody, and I do, you'll enjoy this third book in the series featuring an amateur sleuth archaeologist in the early 1900's. There is kidnap, murder and a plethora of ancient antiquities all providing a compelling read.

I love Barbara Rosenblat's voice for these books, which are all in Amelia Peabody's point of view. Her overwrought prose is part and parcel of the 'journal style' of the story told.

Great fun! But read the series in order, the relationships all build nicely over time.

This mystery/romance is a great read for anyone who loves to imagine life in Alaska. The new police chief relocates to a small Alaskan town right in the middle of the winter. Everyone places bets on whether or not he'll last until breakup. His romance with the local bush pilot is well plotted and reads believably.

I enjoy a story about the frontier and the tough minded folks who live there. This story is has a generational whodunit that keeps the reader engaged.

Gary Littman does a great job reading this narrative. His tone changes as his dry, damaged character begins to be charmed by the natural beauty of his surroundings. Very well done!
