About this listen

Even in Grundy, Alaska, its unusual to find a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on your porch. But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem. Her surly neighbor Cooper Graham, who has been openly critical of Mo's ability to adapt to life in Alaska, has trouble of his own. Werewolf trouble.

For Cooper, an Alpha in self-imposed exile from his dysfunctional pack, its love at first sniff when it comes to Mo. But Cooper has an even more pressing concern on his mind. Several people around Grundy have been the victims of wolf attacks, and since Cooper has no memory of what he gets up to while in werewolf form, hes worried that he might be the violent canine in question.

If a wolf cries wolf, it makes sense to listen, yet Mo is convinced that Cooper is not the culprit. Except if hes not responsible, then who is? And when a werewolf falls head over haunches in love with you, what are you supposed to do anyway? The rules of dating just got a whole lot more complicated.

Will Buy More Molly Harper!

I loved the title of this book when I saw it on the sale list. For that alone, I bought it. It was worth every penny at full price. It is the only Molly Harper book I've ever read/bought...but it certainly isn't the last!

Quirky, Flirty and Fun

Mo is a girl after my own heart. She is strong and determined. She has moved to Alaska to make a break from a broken engagement and her very hippy and controlling parents. She didn’t plan to work right away but somehow steps right into working as a short order cook at the local gathering diner.

Mo is attracted to the sulky, quite guy in the place, Cooper, even though he makes it clear he doesn’t think she’ll make it past the first winter. Since Cooper wants to remain sullen and stand-offish, Mo goes out with Park Ranger, Alan, who is a really nice guy but doesn’t give her shivers like Cooper. As Mo puts it ‘Cooper was caramel triple chocolate cheesecake deep fired on a stick. Alan was angel food cake, sweet and wholesome and nothing you’d regret.’

Mo suspects there is something really different about Cooper and then she learns it for sure when he shows up on her porch naked with a bear trap around his ankle. Cooper takes Mo home to meet his pack when he is summoned because his grandfather is so ill. The pack is at odds because Cooper is the Alpha but he is running from the responsibility. His sister is furious with him and attacks him whenever they are near each other.

There is trouble in town because several people have been injured or killed by a wolf. Mo is sure that Cooper is not the wolf who is attacking people but he isn’t sure of himself so again he backs away from her rather than risk hurting her.

I really enjoyed the push, pull of the romance between Cooper and Mo with the added tension of conflict from Alan’s interest in Mo. The author gives good development of the characters and interesting wolf-pack dynamic as a family struggling under traditional rules. There is plenty of fun dialog and phrasing that had me chuckling out loud. This isn’t fast paced action but it moves along well with a good mix of romance and mystery.

The narrator did a really nice job of catching the quirkiness of the characters and I would enjoy more from both the author and the narrator. I recommend this if you want a light fun read or listen.

1-2 Punch Combo

I love this book. It’s true you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover because I have been missing out on some great writing. I hadn’t listened to this book before because I thought the cover of this book was too cartoonish. I want to kick myself now. This book is really good. Molly Harper writing is funny, with great sarcasm, bad ass females and grumpy (sometimes loveable) males. Quite a few times when I was listening to this book, I was found myself laughing or smiling at something that was happening in the book. Mo, short for Moonflower, moves to Grundy, Alaska to get away from her hippie dippie parents and their suffocating ways. She was expecting to find herself amongst the wilderness, what she found was a naked man/werewolf on her front porch.

Amanda Ronconi is great for this story. Her narration for Mo is spot on. She gives Mo just the right amount of attitude and sass without it being too cheesy. Molly writes a great story and Amanda provides the perfect delivery. It’s a one two punch combo.

Highly entertaining story - excellent narration

This audiobook is in my list of top three all-time favorites (next to The Help by Kathryn Stockett and Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redeption by Laura Hillenbrand).

I had never --nor ever wished to-- read a book about werewolves, and the title of the book dissuaded me from even looking at the reviews for days, but once I finally read the great feedback that listeners left, I decided to give it a try.

I had never read anything by Molly Harper nor heard anything narrated by Amanda Roncini, but I will hunt out both from this point forward for their highly entertaining and engaging story telling.

My husband, who rarely listens to audiobooks, was as enthralled with this story and its vivid characters as I was. We've been talking about it all weekend and are looking forward to more works by Molly Harper. Our ONLY complaint is that the story wasn't longer... we were sad when it ended! Sigh... that's the mark of a good book, I guess.

You'll be very glad you bought it.

So how do you Flirt with a naked Werewolf?

How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf. All right ??? intriguing title but really? The book landed on my Kindle wish list ??? but I resisted ??? the book landed on my audiobook wish list and I still resisted. But everytime I read a review I said ??? hummmm .. I finally caved in - okay so it was not the great novel of the century but I was thoroughly entertained and laughed out loud.

This is the story when Mo Wenstein who moves to in Grundy, Alaska from the Mississippi to escape her hippy parents that are constantly interfering in her life. Mo makes friends quickly, finds a job as a short order cook in the local bar and grill, she even meets a dreamy police officer, Alan. But it is not Alan that captures Mo it is the naked man with a bear trapped on his ankle that does just than and Cooper tried his hardest not to like her.

The story is quick and witty ??? I love Mo???s way with words and how she views the world around her ??? she made me laugh. Amanda Ronconi had the perfect voice to read Molly Harper???s book. Definitely will get the 2nd book in this series.
