Story
Standing over the body of a Supreme Court nominee, Lieutenant Sam Holland is hip-deep in another high-profile murder case. The fact that she was one of the last people to see Julian Sinclair alive just complicates things even more. On the plus side, her relationship with Senator Nick Cappuano is heating up - but it's also attracting a lot of unwanted media attention and blinding flash bulbs.

It was good
Reviewed: 01-25-17
I liked the book but I thought the first was better. I wasn't overly fond of the narration, the voice seemed too old to have pulled off a good Sam. There seemed to be more of a focus on the main characters than on the story itself and I think that is what had me rate this as a 3 and not a 4 or better.

Love the characters and story
Reviewed: 11-13-16
I have listened to all of the books in the series, multiple times now, and I always find myself engrossed in this one. Wanting to listen to it until it ends and not wait for mortal trip into and out of the office. I love Xavier and his gentleman ways, he's classy, he's sophisticated, he's respectful. Everything a woman wants in a man. I love how strong Tess is and her dedication to herself and keeping Xavier safe.

Good book
Reviewed: 04-29-16
I really liked Ramsey as a character from the earlier stories so it was nice to see him finally find his love. I like how the author combined the druid and the warrior into one large package of whoop arise. Tara was a good character but I feel like there could have been more, I just can't pinpoint what was missing. The narration was ok, it's gotten better as the books have progressed. Worth the listen or the read if so inclined to buy the book.

Great addition to the series
Reviewed: 03-08-16
I have enjoyed the series from the beginning, the reason for the 4 is due to the narration. I think she speaks too fast and it detracts from the story. I always like Ian as a warrior and was glad to see him find his happily ever after. Well worth listening to.

Having finally reunited, and fought off the Deceiver for now, Mary and Michael race up the Michigan peninsula to meet Astra before police forces catch up with them. But the closer they get, the less Mary is willing to trust a woman who by her own admission will do anything to finish the Deceiver-even if it means killing Michael and Mary to try again in another life. As they face their final battle, Michael's loyalties are tested, making him vulnerable just when Mary needs him most.

This was the second book in the series and you had to listen to or read the first one to follow along. I thought the narration was great and love Sophie Eastlake so it was easy to listen to. The characters were strong and good, the interaction between them was amazing. The story grabs you and keeps you looking for more.

Good start to a series
Reviewed: 01-19-16
This was a good start to a new series, definitely a lot of back story with the characters. It did feel slow at times and it was hard to keep track of everything going on and the individuals involved. I believe there are a lot of different avenues the story can take and look forward to the next book in the series.

Loved It!!!
Reviewed: 01-09-16
This is another excellent book written by Thea Harrison with amazing narration from Sophie Eastlake. I wasn't fond of the deaths in the book, except for one, however the book was superbly written. Grayson and Belluvial where always amazing characters and to see them get their happily ever after was really nice. I recommend the series and while you could read them individually I recommend that you read them in order.

Dragon Bound!
Reviewed: 06-12-15
It took me a while to decide if I liked the premise behind the book, the descriptive nature of it and if I was put off by the narrator. Here is what I learned. I loved the descriptive nature of the book, I hadn't ready anything that well constructed in a very long time. The web that Thea wrote was amazing, it was well thought out and it was so much fun. It was a surprise to say the least. I love Sophie Eastlake as a narrator and am captivated by the story. The characters are charismatic and you love the ones you are supposed to and hate the ones that are truly worth hating, the story twists and turns and is so much fun to follow. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good book with real feel to it, because I can totally picture it all as it takes place; like a fly on the wall.
