Publisher's summary

Driven by the fierce god within him, highlander Ian Kerr is sworn to fight for the land he loves - and the brother he lost. But when he's transported four centuries into the future, he finds himself fighting his own desires - for a beautiful, bewitching woman who could hold a warrior spellbound.

Danielle Buchanan has heard the legends. She has felt the power of Druid blood in her veins. But she has never known a man as fearsome - or as haunted - as the warrior Ian. With her magic, Dani must help him fight an ancient evil. With her heart, she must join him in his quest. But only with her soul can she free him from his curse...and seal their fates together.

Love this series!

So far I have loved every book and hate to see them end. This author does a fantastic job of keeping you hooked and creating lovable personalities. Fantastic story line and just enough setup to leave you hungry for the next one.

I'm hooked on this magical Highland Warrior series

Firstly, I was slightly confused with all the Warriors/partners mentioned during this tale of the Highland Warriors that have all been cursed to have within them powerful vengeful God's with different abilities who are now fighting against not one but two evil forces. However, I see Audible are releasing the Dark Sword series which is the first books in the series which will help with all the characters as it then continues to this, the Dark Warriors series.

This was Ian's tale, he left the McLeod clan to save them all from himself/his fierce God (the God of battle) who wants to take over his body. However, he was brought forward by the evil Druid Deirdre, 400 years to the year 2012 and, as he fights his fears alone in a cave unaware of the date, he is about to save Druid Danielle and helps her on her quest to go to MacLeod castle with an important artefact in the war against Deirdre.

This book focuses mainly on the hero and heroine's relationship and romance as they both try to save him from being overcome as he is tormented by his God. It is a good listen, enjoyable and does move the storyline forward to 2012 but I think I will listen to the others in the Dark Sword series then re-listen to this series.

Worth a credit? Yes, I love all these tortured Highland Warriors and they are all a must have for any paranormal/romance fan.

Great addition to the series

I have enjoyed the series from the beginning, the reason for the 4 is due to the narration. I think she speaks too fast and it detracts from the story. I always like Ian as a warrior and was glad to see him find his happily ever after. Well worth listening to.

Excellent story

Loved Dani & Ian’s story, with all the previous cast from the Sword series. Each story shows how they trust and love each other like family since they no longer have any. Great surprises, dangerous fights & steamy scenes. Great narrative.

Masterful

Thus series runs perfectly. You get a hot, adventurous, romantic stand alone that hints at the end, that there's another story. Great!

Absolutely Awesome!!!!

This it's the first of the series I've read and it hooked me so fast! Get ready for what I love the most, warriors, magic and Druids! I began reading Terry Brooks Shannara series some 15 - 20 years ago and I always took Druids tho be the magic wielding good guys. A lot of sitters these days make them evil sometimes, so, I was grateful to get back to Druids as I've imagined. The warrior aspect even adds tho the thrill. Most of all I love the found soulmate theme! Get this book today and you won't put out down till the end, now my biggest challenge is what one to read next, I like to read series out of order sometimes. To me this story can almost stand on its own as could the famous Shannara series, Magic, power, love, romance, the battle to save the mortal world, this book even has time travel! A multi-genre fantasy that beats all I've read as of late and I'm not a huge fan of "mature" themed romance 5 stars to Donna Grant!!!

Danielle and Ian

Danielle came to Scotland when she was young and her parents had died. She lived with her aunt who taught her about the Druid magic that she had. She could touch an object and it would tell her where it belonged. So when she found a key that told her to go to MacLeod castle, she followed the directions that it gave her. On the way, she had a car accident and then wyvern began to chase her. That is when she met Ian.
Ian is still struggling to control his god. But he promises to get Danny to the castle.
There is danger around all of people in the castle. Both Declan and Deidre have sent people into the castle. Deidre sent Malcolm to retrieve a druid and to destroy many lives.
Get this exciting story to find out what other excitement happens with the amazing warrior heroes!
This narrator sucks you in with her story telling.

Another amazing tale of druids and warriors!

Would you consider the audio edition of Midnight's Lover to be better than the print version?

Can you give a book 10 stars??? Because I want to!!
OH MY GOD!! I hadn't been reading the Dark Warrior Series because other books came up in my review list and I got swamped but I took a break to read this one and AAAhhhhh I am so glad I took time out of my other reviews to read this in between when I had my times because I sooo loved reading Ian's battle... Malcolm's seeming to not even....want.... to come around.. which is sad but I have hope for him. Ian saving Dani was so sweet... He was still fighting but she was brave and strong!! I held my breath through a few scenes in this book so I knew that the ending couldn't come soon enough.. I didn't want it to come because I was loving the story... but I knew that the end of the book would hopefully mean Ian gaining the control he thought he didn't have. I was not happy when Ian was put in the dungeon... I wanted to go to him just as Dani did! Charlie was such an ass!! OMG I sooo wanted Ian to be the one to get to rid the castle of him..! Had a ton of fun learning Danielle's power and how it knew where she needed to be. I love Donna Grant's Happily Ever Afters... just.... sometimes I wish she didn't have so many scares and sincerely OMG moments...***SPOILER*** I was so on the edge of my seat at the end I swear!! I was wishing I knew the chant so I could help them help Saffron!! And then...... BAM!! I was crying and screaming and OOOOoooooohhhh Donna!!!! I love you!!!***SPOILER*** I look forward to reading Midnight's Seduction (Dark Warrior) Even though We are supposed to read Dark Craving (Dark Kings), Night's Awakening (Dark Kings), and Dawn's Desire (Dark Kings) next... I have already read those... so I get to move onto Midnight's Seduction next :) EEEE Thank you Donna Grant for yet another wonderful story that made me wish I lived in your books!!!

I give this book 5 out of 5 shields!!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Dani. Being strong enough to help Ian get a handle on himself allow him to love Danielle and gain control of his God. It was amazing!

Have you listened to any of Arika Escalona’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Arika's nations have been in a few Donna Grant books so far and I much prefer her from that of the preceding narrator Anthony Ferguson. She does an outstanding job!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes a little voice can be your biggest savior.

Poor baby Ian!!!

Great Great. Continuation of Dark Warriors which follows the Dark Sword series. Ian is an immortal warrior who shared his god with his twin brother Duncan. Duncan was killed then Ian and other warriors was sent to the future. Now Ian is trying to reign in his god and meets and saves Dani. She helps of course and she is a Druid of course. Great love story.

Good buy/credit. Narration was superb.
