Even though I didn’t care for the story, I did enjoy the narration. That’s what I love about audiobooks… it’s an experience to listen to them and I love that!

Story
Saran and Keleir are elemental mages bound by love and sorcery: one destined to rule a kingdom, the other to destroy it. Five years ago, Saran reached into Keleir Ahriman's heart and imprisoned the demon within him, tying her soul to his. Together, they've conspired against Saran's father—a fanatical king who worships the world-ending demon inside Keleir, a being known as the Vel d'Ekaru. When Saran risks everything to save a village of innocent people, the king rips her magic away, splintering the wall she built around Keleir's heart.

Story
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

I may be in the minority but… I didn’t like this book. I didn’t like the FMC, I didn’t like Kingfisher. It didn’t feel new and exciting, it felt overdone and drab.

Story
I feel like I am going crazy. I don't know who I am now. After...After everything. The accident. The assault. I'm not sure of anything anymore. The only thing I am sure of is him. Ace Wilde is the darkness that shadows run from and now he has me in his sights. Our bond is inescapable. He says he can teach me how to be fearless, but at what cost? My mind? My soul? My heart? The moment we met I knew I would gladly give away all three for a chance to lie with the devil. If love makes a person go mad, then I accept my diagnosis.
