Good buy annoying at points

When the authors stuck to the scienze and informative aspects of the subjecy matter, I was fully engaged. But when the author droned on about skiing and some other things, it felt redundant. Overall, the chapters that provided valuable insight on strategies to implement a younger life were helpful. I didn't get a lot on nutrition so was disappointed about that.

Story
Tell a stranger that you talk to yourself, and you’re likely to get written off as eccentric. But the truth is that we all have a voice in our head. When we talk to ourselves, we often hope to tap into our inner coach but find our inner critic instead. When we’re facing a tough task, our inner coach can buoy us up: Focus - you can do this. But, just as often, our inner critic sinks us entirely: I’m going to fail. They’ll all laugh at me. What’s the use?

I loved this book. The author is well educated and very credible. I enjoyed how he broke out each chapter in a way that I could apply the principles to my everyday life. I especially like the fly on the wall and the 3rd person dialogue. Excellent book. Easy to comprehend. And easy to apply in my day-to-day life. Well done!

Jen Mann doesn't have a filter, which sometimes gets her in trouble with her neighbors, her fellow PTA moms, and that one woman who tried to sell her sex toys at a home shopping party. Known for her hilariously acerbic observations on her blog People I Want to Punch in the Throat, Mann now brings her sharp wit to bear on suburban life, marriage, and motherhood in this laugh-out-loud collection of essays.

Awful

I could not make it past the second chapter. She drones on and on about her husband and the relationship. I have no idea what this book is about and was too bored to continue on and on and on to see if the author would EVER get to the point. I could have spent the time listening to something useful or even slightly entertaining.

This is such a great book! I love that she gives assignments at the end of each chapter that solidify the lessons so that I can practice what she teaches each day. I'm reading it a second time and I'm going to do it in a way so as to implement her assignments to get to millionaire status this year!

Story
Audie Award, Humor, 2016. In Furiously Happy, number-one New York Times best-selling author Jenny Lawson explores her lifelong battle with mental illness. A hysterical, ridiculous book about crippling depression and anxiety? That sounds like a terrible idea. But terrible ideas are what Jenny does best.

TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
Reviewed: 03-18-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Rewrite. It is such a waste of money. She writes and reads like I am a five year old and the advice is so elementary. I expected something inspiring and did not even make it past the first chapter. I found myself annoyed by her reading style and the lack of content.
What was most disappointing about Jenny Lawson’s story?
It was so childish and uninspiring.
What didn’t you like about Jenny Lawson’s performance?
It was the story.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Nope. Waste of money.
