Story
Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can't escape. Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart. But when he's forced to look after his best friend's sister, he starts to feel something in his chest. Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can't remember. But despite her past, she's never stopped seeing the beauty in the world . . . including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn't want.

batman
Reviewed: 12-02-24
He is literally just batman and she can magically deep throat without warm up on the first try. They're more enemies near ththe end ththan they were at the beginning. The batman trope gets old. tall, dark, rich and out for vengeance and the cute nerdy girl. I Will say the sex scene at the end is good

they do weird obsessive not even hot things and almost never actually talk to each other. he never even took her on a real date. I do NOT know why they like each other romantically. there were some hot scenes but as a novel, romance book or anything, it didn't make sense.

I know they get better
Reviewed: 12-02-24
I know the books get better but Gods I hate the first one. why does everyone have to defecate themselves. the first one is SOOO stereotypical and nonsensical, the way only a smut, romance or porn plot could be. the kind of book where she is mad she has to love in a castle ans there is no romantic bonding with the male lead. I know they get better but the first one is such a hard read

it was definitely a smut book. hardly a plot, just sex and a happy ending. it was stereotypical and predictable just different in the indulgence.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

even during the slow moments the chatscter dialogue kept me wanting more. it is a unique story and I can truly never guess what someone will do. it is unpredictable and each plot twists is indeed a twist.
