Acuff knows the reason why many writers' novels go unfinished - it's the same reason why gyms are filled in the first week of January and empty by the end of the month and why people stop learning a new language once they get past the easy parts. It's not just that people lose momentum or get distracted. People give up on projects when they fail to live up to their own high expectations and decide that if they can't do something perfectly, they won't do it at all. If you're going to finish, you have to kill perfectionism.

I got a lot from this book. You can listen to this very good overview of the actual book and then decide if you want to read the full book. Vicki tells the story and then the 9 steps in a very warm, conversational way with occasional humour. She does not waste time. I love the idea of introspecting if $5 latte is worth the life energy you put into earning it and if the satisfaction is worth the effort. Inspecting which expense categories help you achieve your life goals is also a wonderful concept.
I highly Recommend this abridged version for anyone interested in personal finance/financial independence / permaculture.

This short bill has opened many new doors for me

In just 47 mins Susan got me thinking. Her examples of unhealthy behaviours helped me to relate to some of the unhealthy patterns I am part of and opened many doors for self improvement. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for understanding emotional health.
