After matching online, two strangers—played by Heléne Yorke (The Other Two) and Michael Zegen (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)—meet in real life. The vibe is off, and the conversation is a mess. Yet something is keeping them in their seats. What begins as a typical date off the apps spirals into something unexpected.

Wasted an hour of my life on this

The forced laughter was the worst. The performers did ok with what they had to work with but this story overall was just lacking. I kept hoping that it would pull together and instead it fell apart at the end.

Regret that I waited so long to listen to this
Reviewed: 04-25-23
I put off listening to this book because of some of the reviews. I want to say that I have listened to Cooper North and have enjoyed him on other books. The problem here is with Cooper doing Ilya. Biggest complaint is that he was not consistent. At times Ilya would go from a Russian accent into an American accent with no reason for the change. I never lost track of Ilya, but it would take me out of the story sometimes because it was jarring. With that being said, his Russian also made Ilya sound like Gru from the Despicable Me Movie. Once that hit my brain I could not stop grinning. I found it very funny after that. I really enjoyed the story and the ups and downs of the book. We all knew it was not going to go smoothly, but I appreciate the author making sure that we get the story ending we all wanted for this couple. I also appreciated the cohesiveness with the timeline from previous books. I can only imagine how difficult that was for the author. I am imagining lots of plot boards with yarn intersections Give this a try. It was very hot and very romantic at times as well.

Story
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

Definitely worth a listen

First let me say I feel I was the intended target audience for this book. I really disliked Lydia when I read Pride & Prejudice and thought her to be a selfish child. In a lot of ways she was exactly as I thought her and she was a child by our standards today. I loved this story of hardship and redemption. If I was to be forever judged on my past actions I don't think I would have faired as well. It made me see her predicament from a whole new perspective. This was well worth the listen.

Best Together

As a reader you really felt the separation anxiety that Declan and Sam felt in this book when working seperately. You also felt the rush and the joy of being brought back together again. It was at the times in the book that Sam and Declan were working together that I enjoyed the story the most. This was a great installment to the series. It brought into play characters from the past that I was pleasantly surprised to have introduced into the story. The disguises were great fun. This one does leave you with a heck of an epilogue. Looking forward to the next installment in the series. As always the narration was excellent.

Great Start to a Series
Reviewed: 02-23-20
This is a great start to a series, but could be read as a stand alone as a HFN ending--no cliffhangers which I greatly appreciate. It has been a long time since I have read a historical romance with pirates in the story. This was a very good story and I feel stayed true to the time period. The added BDSM elements were interesting, but I would have enjoyed the story just as much without them. It is like an updated twist on a classic. I really enjoyed the narration. Piers Ryman's French accent for Gaston was great. I never thought I would fall for pirate with an eye patch until now. Looking forward to the next installment so the adventure can continue.

Story
After a year at the Mountain Vista Assisted Living Complex, Joyce Webster has yet to really settle in. Mountain Vista is just like high school with its cliques and gossip, not to mention its mind-numbing activities. Life gets a little more interesting, though, when one of Joyce's least favorite fellow residents - an old windbag with a big ego and a knack for making enemies - dies in a suspicious fall. Joyce and her friends try to puzzle out the whodunit but are at a loss until Benny the dog turns up a telling clue.

Getting Old Is Not For Wimps
Reviewed: 01-20-20
As I listened to this story the heading for my review kept playing in my head. Getting old is not for wimps and in some ways very much like high school. Going in you knew from the description that the pompous ass was going to be the one murdered. The author made him so unlikable that I was actually looking forward to it. This was a cute little who done it. I liked the sleuthing done by the main character. The story was good, but the look inside what an assisted living or elder care facility for people of some means was actually pretty insightful. It really makes you think about the independence you lose as you get older. I hope I am as sassy as some of these ladies were.

Good story
Reviewed: 01-19-20
This story was good but I am having a hard time wording this review. Carlos and Harry were acquainted with each other from when they were kids, but the thing is Harry remembers this much more clearly than Carlos and that leads to some unnecessary angst on the part of Harry. Overall, I just felt this was anticlimactic and would have liked this to have been left out or played out a different way. The parts of the story where Carlos is attracted to Harry and focuses on ways to get closer to Harry and build a relationship were fun to read about. I understood Harry's apprehension about coming out and how he was raised to believe he was going to hell for what he wanted. I am glad Carlos found him. Overall their story was a good one and I really liked the ending. It was great being able to see characters from the first book and get to revisit them in this one as well.

Story
Brad "Frat Boy" Feller and Sebastian "Toppy" DeWitt have been together for nine months, and their relationship is as hot as ever. The only cloud Brad sees on their horizon is Sebastian's stress over his thesis. And their uncertain future together after graduation. And how Sebastian sometimes takes Brad for granted. And Sebastian's unwillingness to introduce Brad to his father. Other than that, everything's awesome.

This was a short story and I was ok with that. It was a great way to revisit Brad and Sebastian. There is drama and resolution and sexy times to be had. Narration was great as always. It is good to see what happens with a couple as they evolve with routine and life in general. It was nice to see Brad figuring out what he wants and needs from Sebastian.

What? You don’t know Adam Wade? Here’s your chance! Adam Wade’s personal-yet-universal stories and vulnerable delivery have made him one of the most popular storytellers and comedians in the country on "story slam" platforms like The Moth and Comedy Central’s Whiplash. This Audible Original, performed on stage in front of a live audience, combines Wade’s greatest hits stories with entirely new material.

I really enjoyed this Audible original. It was great getting to know Adam Wade. His storytelling was great. I laughed often through this. I also felt for him when he did not get what was striving for whether it was a ball hit or just simply acceptance at a party. Those were growth moments. We all have them. I am glad he was able to find the funny in his.
