Story
Melanie Hoskins, an experienced firefighter-paramedic, has been recruited by a very selective and secret organisation known as The Division. Their mission is to protect the populace and secure the continuation of the United States. The Division is only activated at times of dire need. This just so happens to be one of those times. Based in New York City, Hoskins is forced to leave her civilian life and those she loves behind, and join the front line to try to control the 'dollar flu' virus that has been spreading throughout the city.

Totally Immersive Sound
Reviewed: 08-02-24
if you're a fan if the games the use of Sound effects alone will hook you into this story. Tjat said, I also think it would stand alone without that knowledge as a pretty good 1-shot Division story.

Excellent casting

I've struggled with this book, a favorite of mine, since I was a teenager. 20 years of battling this book with ADHD, losing focus and having trouble discerning who is talking from line to line because the book is so dense with characters and names.
The stellar casting and voice modulation here made it very easy to tell who was who, and the audiobook is even easier to recommend to readers and non-readers (or strugglers like myself) alike!

Any D&D fan will likely enjoy this book. Especially if you use the Forgotten Realms world/ setting supplemental materials.
Also a perfect listening choice if you're playing Baldur's Gate 3 and need it injected into your brain when you're away from your computer.
For reference, Drizzt is born in 1297, while I believe BG3 starts in 1492.
Plus there is such lore in here of the Drow and the Underdark you'll find yourself restarting the game at 60 hours in just so you can play a traditionally nasty/evil Drow.

Ineson does the same great job he does in the games. This title is basically a whole book's worth of in-game audio logs regarding various relics / items of power in Sanctuary.
The lore and insights are interesting if you're a fan of Diablo's world and story. The biggest portion of lore (it's very briefly mentioned, almost glossed over even) that I was unaware of before now is the fact that both the Cow Level and Whimsyshire are canon and have in-world lore explaining them?!
EXCUSE ME, WHAT?!
I now have a burning desire to know more on this subject, so if you're a member of the horadrim in need of an apprentice, give me a call.

This is basically a shot for shot recounting of the game, minus side missions. Just sam walking place to place, going through the cutscenes, and visiting preppers who do their little speech at Sam and ask for their delivery. Each time the writer finding a new way to say "Sam didn't say anything in response." since he doesn't talk to the chiralgrams in the game.
There is some further story explanation but it's buried in a repetitive mess. I recommend just looking for the info elsewhere online.

I cant wait for part 4, I've loved sandman since I was a kid, and it's so interesting to me to have an idea for what everyone sounds like. Primarily Morpheus, who in my head always sounded like a sarcastic, angsty teen. Probably my brain pulling from the Robert Smith hair!
Excited for more Sandman in all forms!
