Story
A lot had changed in "The Holy Sky" School during the six weeks that Hadjar Darkhan was away. Everyone who was in the capital at the time became much stronger, thanks to the regular skirmishes along the Imperial road. By the emperor's decree, all the disciples of the Imperial martial arts schools were allowed to visit the infamous and highly coveted Wastelands. "The Holy Sky's" disciples were especially fortunate - they'd been given a two-week head start to find the map leading to Emperor Decater's tomb, as well as the key that would allow them to enter his chambers.

Alot of info dumping at first but pays off later on. Character development is amazing and everyone feels like a living being even if some are cliche. All in all it was an excellent book.

This book was awesome! Due to its episodic telling, i felt like i was hearing a series that i could stop and pick back up on whenever. The story is fantastic and so far one of my favorites now. Characters are unique and memorable, while the narration is clear and distinctly well done. All in all it was a great use of a credit and i look forward for the books to come.

MC keeps saying he has problems with notifications and never adresses it. Constantly skipping loot and "forgetting" items he has that could have helped or saved him in the future. Every gamer knows inventory management is a constant. This MC didn't get the memo

Story
Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

So the story wasn't half bad in my opinion and the narrator if quite good too. The only problems i personally had was it felt like i was listening to a documentary on the history channel when it came to the lore. My personal opinion wouldve found a more impactful way than infodumping, but after learning the story more i understand its only there to build the world. that said, and after the infodumping, everything else flowed quite nice
