Poor narration
Reviewed: 06-04-24
I almost DNF because of the female narration. She has poor breath control (gasping during every pause), the sex scenes were overly done and almost screechy, and the volume a bit inconsistent. The gasping breathing was the worst though.
Story was ok. The male was a bit too alpha for my tastes. Interesting premise and mystery though.

Awful narration

The narration was nearly unbearable and I almost didn’t finish the book because of it. The story was ok but Pagan was a bit over the top sometimes and the narration made her kind of unlikable.

Narration almost ruined it
Reviewed: 06-18-17
I will start by saying that I will likely read or listen to the next book because the story is interesting. Great premise. Writing is not stellar (the dialogue is rather irritating), not again, I will read the next book. The narration was really bad. I didn't like the way the narrator portrayed the female character, and the inflection was over the top in many cases. The worst thing, though, was the many, many instances where passages were repeated. I don't know what the problem was, but it nearly ruined it for me. I think I would've enjoyed this a lot more in print.

Couldn't stand the narrator, but good story
Reviewed: 05-02-17
The narrator drove me crazy. Her American accent was ok much of the time, but the mispronounced words (e.g. Like British or Australian English, words that end in vowels like Julia pronounced with an "r" at the end: Julier) were so frequent that it detracted from the story. Good story though for sure, but I honestly almost gave up and went for Kindle version instead.

Loved the story, but the sound of the narrator's loud breathing seriously detracted. It's too bad because she did the voices quite well in that they didn't all sound the same. Love this whole series though, and will definitely listen to the last book despite the narrator.

Opening for their idols on their first tour, Oblivion is living the dream. Mostly. Frustrated at being shoved out of his mediator role by their new manager, Deacon McCoy loses himself in brutal workouts. He only comes up for air long enough to refuel - and to tease the deliciously cute chef who makes him crave a lot more than what she's offering on her serving plate.

Stop with the pronouns!
Reviewed: 08-04-15
I liked the story, though I agree with other reviewer(s) that there is a bit too much filler. I even liked the female narrator, and I enjoyed the dual narration style. But the author's overuse of pronouns, and the male narrator's overemphasis/over-inflection of those pronouns drove me absolutely crazy! It was irritating enough that I probably won't listen to any more in this series, even though I'm interested in what happens next with the characters.

Terrible headache from the narrator
Reviewed: 07-12-15
The story was ok (nothing special), but the narrator was awful. Her normal voice is nice, but the Scottish accent is laughable, and the screechy voice she uses for the females and children gave me a horrible headache. I had to take my earbuds out when the aunt was speaking.
