About this listen

Book One in the new adult rock star series, Lost in Oblivion.

Love definitely wasn't on the setlist.

Opening for their idols on their first tour, Oblivion is living the dream. Mostly. Frustrated at being shoved out of his mediator role by their new manager, Deacon McCoy loses himself in brutal workouts. He only comes up for air long enough to refuel - and to tease the deliciously cute chef who makes him crave a lot more than what she's offering on her serving plate.

As the child of roadie parents, Harper Pruitt has heard every pickup line twice. To her, musicians are one step above the scraps on her cutting board. All she wants is to get enough experience to run her own catering company, but Deacon and his bottomless stomach are too tempting to resist. He's far from the typical rock star and before long, she finds herself experimenting with him, inside and out of the kitchen.

Apron - and panties - optional.

When Harper sees that Deacon's dream band with his best friends may be turning into a nightmare, she can't walk away. Deacon's so much more than just a peacemaker and the man behind the bass. But she has her own dreams to chase...even if she's starting to think what she's building with him might be the biggest one of all.

Just the right amount of steamy passionate romance

This book left me wanting more. The narrator's made this book. Wen Ross has such a deep sexy voice. I bought this book on sale and ended up buying the whole series . If you like erotic romance, this is the book for you. If you like sweet romance with something left to the imagination, this isn't for you. This book has strong sexual language and a lot of sex scenes.

Really good start of series

One of the better “rock romance” series out there. Deacon is my favorite character of the group and his relationship with Haley feels so real. The challenges the group faces on tour and with the record company also feel real.
The narrators do a good job expressing the characters and their emotions. Their voices fit the characters and add to the story.

Loved this story, Deacon is swoon worthy

What did you love best about Rocked?

Loved the story of Harper and Deacon, his pursuit of her and his patience, but also Harper's inner dialogue. But the story also follows the band Oblivion.
When the chapter starts with Deacon's POV there was music in the background, however, towards the end (the last few chapters) the music was different and louder so I always missed the name of the chapters and the first few words. It also was not just during Deacon's POV it was for Harper's too. It was a distraction and too loud.

What did you like best about this story?

Listening to the way the writers have described the way the music is written and the feeling of the cords being played is beautiful. I have written & played music and the way the authors have describe the feeling of the music is point on.

Have you listened to any of Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to them in a few other stories.. my only criticism is that when they are not doing the voice of the main characters they need to try and change the intonation, timber or something because it starts getting confusing. Also the pronunciation of certain words were wrong and that kind of drives me crazy. For example Penchant is NOT pronounced Pen-Chant its ˈpen(t)SH(ə)nt a French word. Or the coffee maker Keurig was said wrong.
Other than that, their voices and acting does bring life to the characters. Kai Kennicott has such a rich voice and Wen Ross has a very soothing voice, they compliment each other.

Any additional comments?

I look forward to the next book in this series!

I adore this audio!

Would you consider the audio edition of Rocked to be better than the print version?

I have not read the book version so I say the audio is phenominal!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I fell in love with Deacon!

What does Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think they bring a more human feel to the books and I love that!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I did but unfortunately being a mother and wife it got in the way of my listening lol

Any additional comments?

I absolutely love Kai and Wen as duo!

This book will rock your mind

This book had me hooked from the first page. I could not put it down. I LOVE Deacon and Harper. The push and pull between them make this story so much fun to listen to. Deacon is lusting after Harper and Harper only wants to do her job. She wants nothing to do with Deacon, which of course makes Deacon pursue her even harder. But this is not your typical Rock Star story, Deacon is not that typical "different woman a night" member. I loved seeing more of a real person in Deacon. Harper is an independent woman, who is trying to make a name for herself in the cooking industry. I loved her spunk and spitfire attitude. But as with all good stories, I was left wanting more.

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott are the perfect narrating team for this story. Deacon comes alive through Wen's narration. I loved the character Wen created in Deacon. Kai has a soft voice, which is perfect for Harper. Although Harper has spunk, she is sweet and Kai brings that out through her narration. I love listening to this team and anything they narrate, is a one click for me.
