Story
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

A Dad's point of view
Reviewed: 06-16-23
This is the story of a family primarily told by a father in a letter. He tries to explain the family background that may have led to a daughter's poor choices. I really enjoyed the format; this story wouldn't have been as impactful in a traditional style. The narrator truly gave Med a voice.

Story
When her parents die in a tragic accident, Molly Bennett and her siblings pull together to fulfill their parents’ dream of turning their historic Bluebell, North Carolina, home back into an inn. Staying in town would be temporary - three years at most - then they plan to sell the inn, and Molly can get back to chasing her own dreams. Adam Bradford (a.k.a. best-selling author Nathaniel Quinn) is a reclusive novelist with a bad case of writer’s block. Desperate for inspiration as his deadline approaches, he travels to the setting of his next book, a North Carolina lake town.

Great Story, Bland Narration

The reader makes all of the characters sound like teenaged girls. I couldn't tell sometimes if a man or woman was speaking.

If you love riddles and likeable characters this is the book for you. The author's use of literary quotes leads Miranda on a life changing scavenger hunt. The book is well researched and the characters real; flawed and quirky.

One of My Favorite Books
Reviewed: 07-19-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I often purchased the audible versions of my favorite books to listen to when I travel (and at work when I need to block out office mates chatter!). This one is abridged in extreme. It reads more like a short story. Next time I will pay more attention and get the full novel.
Which character – as performed by Nicol Williamson – was your favorite?
Trevelyan was portrayed well but the female characters all sounded like Grandma.

Story
An historic literary event: the publication of a newly discovered novel, the earliest known work from Harper Lee, the beloved, best-selling author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic To Kill a Mockingbird. Originally written in the mid-1950s, Go Set a Watchman was the novel Harper Lee first submitted to her publishers before To Kill a Mockingbird. Assumed to have been lost, the manuscript was discovered in late 2014.

Better than I expected.

I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised. Harper captured the fear and passions of the time. Not every southerner supported Jim Crow, splits within families are not uncommon. Much has been said about the difference in Atticus's views in this book versus TKAM. I don't think that his views were really addressed then. His views on equality under the law was, not his personal feelings about human rights. I think the book is on target that it would take Scouts generation to finally change the world.
