Story
John Churchill, the Duke of Marlborough (1644-1722), was one of the greatest military commanders and statesmen in the history of England. Victorious in the Battles of Blenheim (1704) and Ramillies (1706) and countless other campaigns, Marlborough, whose political intrigues were almost as legendary as his military skill, never fought a battle he didn't win. Marlborough also bequeathed the world another great British military strategist and diplomat, his descendant, Winston S. Churchill.

It is far too long for this type of format and it is so in-depth for a time that has no relevance today. The latter leads to boredom given today and its lack of modern application.

Today, we are told that medical interventions increased our lifespan and single-handedly prevented masses of deaths. But is this really true? Dissolving Illusions details facts and figures from long-overlooked medical journals, books, newspapers, and other sources. Using myth-shattering information, this book shows that vaccines, antibiotics, and other medical interventions are not responsible for the increase in lifespan and the decline in mortality from infectious diseases.

As a retired internist, medical oncologist and medical researcher, I found this text by the authors to be not only revealing, but demanding the need for new controlled trials in vaccine medicine. The muddled history and obfuscation by the pharmaceutical corporations and our government continues today at the to place our population at risk with unproven vaccines. This text is an eye opener that all physicians, nurses, medical students and parents should read.

Because of our highly processed diet, pesticides, and overuse of antibiotics, our guts are now missing so many of the good bacteria that we require to be healthy. As a result, many of us have lost control over our health, weight, mood, and even behavior. With cutting-edge research, Dr. Davis connects the dots between gut health and modern ailments such as SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), a silent and profound epidemic, which affects one out of three people and is responsible for an astounding range of human health conditions.

This a lot for the average reader to comprehend and do. However, though the suggested bacterial species are a cost center, the more simple means of using curcumin and berberine are an inexpensive start. Truly, most family physicians and internists will not comprehend this approach without further clinical trial support. This is just not part of their training.

Beer is and has always been more than an intoxicating beverage. Its invention 13,000 years ago was one of the fundamental motivations for the domestication of grains around the world. In early states, the control over the technological knowledge and resources to produce beer contributed to social hierarchies. Beer even likely provided the capital to motivate laborers to construct the ancient pyramids and other large-scale public works. Beer is a social lubricant that brings people together.

In 2007, Joseph Ratzinger published his first book as Pope Benedict XVI in order “to make known the figure and message of Jesus”. Now, the Pope focuses exclusively on the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ life as a child. The root of these stories is the experience of hope found in the birth of Jesus and the affirmations of surrender and service embodied in his parents, Joseph and Mary.

The Progressive Catholic Hierarchy
Reviewed: 05-17-24
In this book, Ms. Meloni lays out the case of the Catholic Progressive Hierarchy and the planned takedown of Pope Benedict XVI. Similar to the present-day schisms experienced by the non-Catholic Christian churches, Ms. Meloni outlines and describes the characters, their personalities and the progressives intent to secularize the Catholic Church. There is exemplified by the state of the progressive German Catholic Church and the Vatican under Francis's Papacy. For those who desire to understand the current state of Catholicism's turmoil, this a informative, well researched text and done with great clarity.
