Story
For best friends with vastly different fortunes, what’s left to hash out other than a forced confession at gunpoint? All that the destitute, sickly, and grieving Will demands is that monstrously successful Barry admit to draining all the luck right out of him. Like blood. As the standoff escalates, the truth is not the only thing ready to come out.

Story
The dense Michigan forest. Haunting wails. The clip-clop of demon hooves on a bridge to nowhere. It’s more than a tall tale to Brenda Jennings, whose sister disappeared in those woods one fateful night. Three years later, on a solo stakeout in the dark, Brenda goes in after her. She’s desperate for answers, and terrified to find what lies waiting on the other side of that bridge.

As an undercover DEA agent, I always thought things through. I didn't take chances, because I knew one misstep could have disastrous consequences. Until I met her. The little sister of my next target. Lola was a feisty young woman trying to claw her way out of a bad neighborhood. She was forbidden in every sense of the word, and not just because of the sixteen-year age gap. We were taught to expect the unexpected, but nothing could have prepared me for what was about to happen. I fell hard. I fell fast. I free fell heart first. But there was a secret I was keeping.

Eva Kavinsky wakes in a dark cellar, with no memory of how she got here. Imprisoned with her, seemingly at random, are four men. The only way out is the trapdoor in the ceiling – and it's locked. The single clue about what brings them all here is a cryptic message sprayed onto one wall. Connect the dots. Repent. A camera fixed high above reach is livestreaming this whole nightmare to the world. What confessions are they meant to make to their unseen audience?

I thought there would be a bigger pay off to the story, and I hate when I listen to these and can’t find it on GoodReads to add to my reading goal, which is just a superficial preference of mine and doesn’t impact the story.

On the mining planet of Erebos, you are either one of the privileged, or you sell your service contract to the highest bidder. The filth of The Rats or the endless darkness of the mines. As soon as I could, I left behind the leering glances to sell my labor to the mining company. In return, I received an apartment barely large enough for a bed and a sink, fourteen-hour shifts in the darkness, and an early death when my lungs inevitably gave out. It was hardly a fair shake, but nothing on Erebos was fair. Vera My body was on fire. What was Ah-Nek doing to me? A strange draw had been there ...

Bestselling author Jason Hutchinson is at it again! By day, Brian is a talented, yet low-tier IT consultant... ...by night? Well, he's generally even less than that! Living in the big city isn't all it's cracked up to be. Brian's job sucks, his boss is overbearing, and he doesn't see much future in it. That is, until he walks into the halls of MCC, Magical Community College. As he talks to the receptionist, Clover, he has no idea how well he's going to get to know the hot and willing secretary...or at least a perfect facsimile of her! Simple troubleshooting proves his skills, but there ...

I was worried I was going to find Roku boring, or the style would be too different since its a new author. Wrong and wrong. It stayed true to the previous style, Roku was arguably more fun to read about than YangChen. And finally so many little questions that fans love to speculate on about the world of ATLA were answered in this book so we can finally stop arguing about them!
