Story
A sophisticated, pause-resisting double love story spanning 40 years-an unforgettable Brief Encounter for our times. It is 1960. When Jennifer Stirling wakes up in the hospital, she can remember nothing-not the tragic car accident that put her there, not her husband, not even who she is. She feels like a stranger in her own life until she stumbles upon an impassioned letter, signed simply "B", asking her to leave her husband. Years later, in 2003, a journalist named Ellie discovers the same enigmatic letter in a forgotten file in her newspaper's archives.

Story
When Cara stumbles across a stash of old postcards in the attic, their contents make her question everything she thought she knew. The story she pieces together is confusing and unsettling, and appears to have been patched over with lies. But who can tell her the truth? With her father sinking into Alzheimer’s and her brother reluctant to help, it seems Cara will never find the answers to her questions. One thing is clear, though: someone knows more than they’re letting on.

This book plot was good however it did not grip me with character development or plot twists. It was just an ok listen and I had to remind myself to keep going and finish it. It had the potential to be great but just wasn’t.

Story
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

It's ok to be unhealthy???
Reviewed: 05-22-18
A young girl struggles with her obesity and decides that it's ok to be fat. when it is mentioned that she try to lose weight she denies the thought that she needs to put in any effort and says that people need to accept her inspite of her unhealthy weight. I am disturbed by this given in our day and age obesity is a major issue. obesity leads to many health issues including but not limited to joint and bone problems, certain cancers, type 2 diabetes, and So much more. I know we need to accept flaws and perfection is not the goal ever because it does not exist but this book swings in the complete opposite direction. I was hoping she would come to grips halfway through the book but she didn't.
