With a modern take, you’ll not only learn about how traditional institutions such as the family and schools shape society but also come away informed about how mass media, including social media networks like Facebook and YouTube, are socializing our children and providing new means of interpersonal mass communication never seen before.

A lot of unnecessary fiction, and hard to understand at times!
Reviewed: 12-19-20
I listened to it all the way even though it was hard at times to keep listening to unnecessary fiction the author has added. The book would have been much better if it was read by someone who is easier to understand. The story was mainly about the Buddha’s childhood and before he became a Buddha which was not what I expected... it would have been better to name it Siddhārtha Gautama, and not Buddha!

Story
This is the classic introduction to Vipassana meditation: a full-length study of the teaching of S. N. Goenka, prepared under his guidance and with his approval. Useful for meditators and non-meditators alike. This was the first book to appear in English that accurately describes the practice of Vipassana at length for the general reader. It includes stories by Goenkaji as well as answers to students’ questions that convey a vivid sense of his teaching.

One of the greatest Dharma book I have every listened to!
Reviewed: 12-08-20
This book is a pure gem. Satipatthana is explained in a way that any layperson can have a full understanding of. I usually have to listen to Dharma books a few times to have as much as understanding as I listened to this book just once! Now that wont stop me from listening to it again, but it just shows the level of the understanding the author had.

This my first time leaving a 2 star review. In fact I only leave reviews for good books but this book was just awful! Aside from it being very basic, there are contradictions such as dont drink coffee, and then towards the end you will hear that taking “Ghahveh” is one of the recommended natural ways of healing... which Ghahveh translated into english means coffee.
