The Cosmere storyline doesn't appeal to me. I'm sure some people love it. This book was a great way to wrap up some threads I cared about.

I enjoy this podcast. The hosts often have different takes on movies that I never considered.
My only complaint is the use of music beds. I can barely understand the intro every week, and often tune out for it.

Self-congratulatory pseudo science
Reviewed: 08-12-23
The author spends most of the book praising himself, promoting pseudo science, and demonizing non-Christian behaviors. While he may have helped solve crimes, I must wonder how many innocent men were tormented by his techniques. There was no mention of the author's failures.

Odd bits of editing
Reviewed: 07-07-23
This story suffers from the same flaws as all of the Shadow books. Every story has to trump the previous, and the escalation gets out of hand. I still enjoy the story, it's just difficult to suspend disbelief.
There are odd bits of editing. It seems as if some portions were re-recorded and poorly spliced in.

The only positive thing I have to say is that I used a free reward to get this. Sadly, I could have used that reward on something else.
I tried to give it a chance, but gave up in chapter two. His anecdotes are unbelievable.
I did not make it to the sales pitch that other reviewers mentioned. I believe them, as this felt similar to a timeshare presentation.
It's not often that I remove a book from my library without a refund, but that's what I'm doing with this.

Story
The original Dungeons & Dragons released by TSR (Tactical Studies Rules) in 1974 created a radical new medium: the role-playing game. For the next two decades, TSR rocketed to success. But by 1997, a series of ruinous choices and failed projects brought TSR to the edge of doom—only to be saved by their fiercest competitor, Wizards of the Coast. Unearthed from Ben Riggs’s own adventurous campaign of in-depth research, interviews with major players, and acquisitions of secret documents, Slaying the Dragon reveals the true story of the rise and fall of TSR.

This was a fascinating look into TSR. I knew some of it, and thought I knew some other facts. It was nice to fill in the gaps and have erroneous information corrected. The author was as fair as was possible given his access. The narration was excellent.
My one negative is that it would be nice to have a PDF with a time-line.

They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.

Stephen R. Celebrating its 15th year of helping people solve personal and professional problems, this special anniversary edition includes a new foreword and afterword written by Covey that explore whether the 7 Habits are still relevant and answer some of the most common questions he has received over the past 15 years.

outdated
Reviewed: 02-10-22
I had to use this book and the associated workbook for a class. Putting aside the religious drivel, I'm still left with a book in serious need of a refresh. The author attributes mental health issues to a lack of balance and fulfillment. There are also several disproven concepts like left and right brain people.
With a refresh, this would be a tolerable entrant to the wonky self-help genre. Without it, this is harmful.

It's a great book, but the series has stalled and will probably never be finished. It's a shame, as I would love more of this. Do not enquire about the status of the next book or the fanboys and fangirls will rise up like avenging angels.
