Story
Every marketer tells a story. And if they do it right, we believe them. We believe that wine tastes better in a $20 glass than a $1 glass. We believe that an $80,000 Porsche Cayenne is vastly superior to a $36,000 VW Touareg, which is virtually the same car. We believe that $225 Pumas will make our feet feel better, and look cooler, than $20 no-names... and believing it makes it true.

A bit biased
Reviewed: 09-18-17
I was excited to hear this book however I quickly found myself more focused on the pattern in the authors biased examples. Many are based on women in the home/men are the money makers and I'll leave it to you to decide what his political affiliation is.

Story
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Girl on her commute

I'm glad I stuck with this book. The first day I listened on my morning drive, I found myself feeling a bit moody when I arrived at work. The first few hours were quite depressing, which speaks volumes to the portrayal of Rachel. About half way through I was gripped and couldn't stop listening until I finished!

The bulk of the storm has passed over the world, leaving echoing thunder and softly drifting ashes. But for the survivors, the peril remains, and the search for a cure is just beginning.

THE zombie book
Reviewed: 11-11-14
What made the experience of listening to Thunder and Ashes the most enjoyable?
Every character has unique characteristics that make them easy to follow. Most of the the characters are relatable and the bad guys are absolutely the bad guys. I really enjoyed the zombies!!! Not boring run of the mill moaners and groaners but sprinters and shamblers! The military jargon in the fire fights is intense and so much fun to listen to! Is it bad that I would have loved for Brewster to turn into a zombie instead of Willis?
Who was your favorite character and why?
Anna is my favorite character. She is tenacious and well respected in her field, which adds a LOT to the overall story.
Which scene was your favorite?
The attack on the raiders camp was my favorite scene
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
AIM FOR THE HEAD...DONT MISS

Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

Would you listen to American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition (A Full Cast Production) again? Why?
Yes, the different voices reminded me of old radio programming. You could hear the voice and know who the character was before it was revealed. I recommend reading the book as well.
Which scene was your favorite?
Shadow's vigil to Wednesday including when he goes down into the earth
