I knew the Pastor and HIV would be a thing. I figured he might be her father as well. Interesting story that tries to be funny, but comes off as runchy instead. Not recommended

I'm glad this series started back. I enjoyed the Tide with all of intense storylines. This book is about a bunch of hippies and hybrids trying to spread the blight across America. Led by Colorado Singer (I love this name) for whatever religious reasons. Ok, story is unoriginal, but it's fun and enjoyable.

Like with most crime novels, the killer is introduced within the first 2 hours or so. I picked up on who the killer was after Daisy's passing. The motivation for the killings is what had me pulling my hair. The half sister goes crazy because dad is a drunk and misses his decease wife. She didn't get the affection she believed she deserved and start killing people. First by accident, got a rush and kept on keeping on. That's the story, so I'm knocking a star off. Narration was fine, nothing stood out, but that's also a good thing. 3.75 rounded up to 4 overall.

Last Rock just shot up to the best audio book I've heard. Nick Podehl narration was excexcellent, if not one of his best. Only disappointment was the Blood Ox. Dispatched off screen without going into details of the fight. Also he just looked like a man? I was expected some humanoid Bull or Ox with red stained maul. Other than that? I enjoyed all 26 hours of this title.

Pros: Excellent narration with good pacing and dialog. Like Brad and Cindy final moment or Arch and Cheddarfield showdown with the General. A little less Lucy was a good thing as well.
Cons: Not sure where this story going, but I fully expect Arch to switch partners or lovers. It was eluded to multiple times so I expected a fight over Arch. I also miss Micheal from book 2.
Conclusion: Fun book with funny dialog, good action, and excexcellent voice acting.

Story
I can't take it anymore. This curse, this undead curse… It makes it so every moment is nothing but pure torment. I need to keep busy, to take my mind off of it and alleviate the pain. More than that, I need to find a way to rebuild my powers after I was tricked by my own allies, slain, and reborn. I can't return to the human lands yet. The pact of non-aggression still stands. This leads me to accept a contract that will bring me to the land of the Witch Elves. A place where great dangers lurk—demons and abominations— but also tremendous power.

Better than book1, but not as good as book2. The story did have some slow parts, but the last three hours made up for it. Narration was great as usual. I think Daniel W has definitely moved up to my third favorite narrator.

This is the last book in the series and I throughly enjoyed it. Narration was great, story was mostly good, but ultimately incomplete.
Spoilers
Issues with Story: I don't recall the author explaining how or why the Rangers were transported to this new land. It ends with (Spoilers) the Rangers stuck in this mythical land. I think there were 11 Rangers left at the end of book 5. There's six when the story ends. I can recall 4 deaths, I'm assuming the 5th one like Chambers died off screen? Next issue, no conclusions with the Headless horsemen. A few are killed, but there's something like 26 or 27 that are left. They wanted the swords but suddenly abandoned their pursuit when they had a clear path to the swords after the Dragon was slained. Next, I was expecting the Marines would get the chance to go home, it didn't happen. They impregnated a few local women and the story ends by saying I'm always a Ranger or something to that matter. The main vaillain of the story was just a guy defeated by a slash to the throat. Halfway through the book, there were talks about the headless horsemen speaking English and making a pack. I expected to hear more about who they were. Nope, never brought up again. So I'm going to give the story a 3. Underwhelming ending with 6 Rangers left I don't recall their names except Bailey and I think Cruz.
Conclusion: Very fun book, fun series with some lazy writing, and incomplete story arcs here and there. I'm sad the series ended as I enjoyed listening to this series. The highlight of the series is book 2. I think I'll go back and listen to that one again.

Story
I gave Eris the first taste of the terror to come, but in doing so, I had to agree to a peace treaty with the King. For the next twelve years, I cannot bring as much as a single unit on human lands… That doesn't mean I'm going to rest, oh no! I will use that time to further build my skills and my kingdom. I need to become even stronger so I can bring Eris one step closer to total annihilation.

The first book was just ok. Took awhile to get going, and establish a direction. Book 2 comes out of the gate swinging. This was the narrator's best effort. Luke Daniel's territory. Now, upon my resurrection, I would have deleted Peter. A snake coward who's only good for back stabbing. The only negative is the Banchee fight. She used her minons instead of getting dirty herself. Other than that? A truly excellent book.
