Story
When a series of devastating terror attacks brought down the United States, Conor and Barb assumed they were safe in their compound. They had everything they needed. They were armed and highly trained. But then, Barb was kidnapped. The kidnappers didn’t know why Conor was known as The Mad Mick. They didn’t know the fear and respect his name invoked in the shadowy underworld of covert operations. They didn’t know that when it came to protecting his family, he was without conscience, without compassion, and without equal. But they would soon find out.

Though its alien pilot is dead, the rare extraterrestrial animal inside is not. Fin learns the creature is being smuggled across the galaxy when a pair of interstellar visitors respond to the crash. Army veteran Lee Riker is staying in an Atlanta shelter and supporting himself with the odd carpentry job when his sister, Tara, summons him home to Indiana for the reading of their mother’s will. Riker boards a Greyhound bus in Atlanta with his duffel bag, less than $200 to his name, and a secret he must protect at all costs. Riker makes it to Middletown only to learn his sister has recently witnessed a gruesome death. Insisting she saw the victim rise from a pool of his own blood to attack the Samaritan rendering aid, Tara floats the idea that the man may have been a zombie.

Story
Before the lights went out, Jack Warrant never considered himself a prepper. That was someone on the edge, a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday cultist who had a fatalistic view of the world. He was neither a theorist nor a cultist. He was an optimist. At least that was what he told himself when the darker thoughts creeped into his psyche as he stared at the ceiling in the middle of the night. Whenever he started down the rabbit hole, he always clawed his way back into the sunlight.

More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Publisher's summary
They thought the darkness was behind them. They were wrong.
A decade ago, a devastating bioweapon changed the face of humanity. Innocent people were turned into ravenous creatures driven by a relentless urge for destruction. Now the survivors struggle to rebuild their lives in the remains of a shattered America.
Captain Dominic Holland leads a crew of skilled covert operatives and scientific personnel on a clandestine ship to protect the US from chemical and biological weapons. Their mission takes a harrowing turn when a vital agricultural lab in a troubled New England town falls prey to a vicious attack. Dom’s team is tasked with saving any survivors. But what they uncover is more devastating than the ruins of a lab.
Deep in the Appalachian Mountains, Dom’s daughter Kara ventures into the wild alone to search for a missing woman. But her mission quickly takes a startling turn. She must learn to trust an unexpected ally to survive a far more sinister threat than she ever anticipated.
As danger escalates at every turn, Dom and Kara find themselves entangled in a web of unimaginable horrors. They must navigate the treacherous post-apocalyptic landscape to safeguard the fragile future of America. In this relentless thriller, where every step could be their last, Dom and Kara fight not only for survival, but for the very soul of a nation teetering on the brink of extinction.

Story
The world has recovered from a plague that decimated the global population thanks to the efforts of the United Global Coalition (UGC). Now acting as the government, the UGC has set up isolated metros around the world. One of the largest metros is Capital Metro. It is the center of the North American Region. Brett Hardin is a citizen of that metro. He lives his life dedicated to two ideals, supporting the UGC and protecting his family. When those ideals collide, what path will he choose?

Story
BANGKOK, MARCH 2018. The world looked on in horror as millions of innocent lives were snuffed out in a matter of hours. Countless men, women and children slaughtered without mercy, torn apart by a violent mob that attacked without reason, motive or warning. Tom Freeman witnessed the aftermath. He reported on the tragedy and looked into the eyes of the sole survivor, an old friend, and what he saw looking back sent him running home to the United States. Back to safety. Back to a place where the world made sense, and the putrid stink of the dead didn't haunt his nightmares.

love this New Start so much
From start to finish this book was amazing! having the team going out on a new adventure and the addition of the new characters was just as exciting as the Tide series. I can see how this is stand alone and no clue how you would not be able to keep from listening the Tide series if you have not yet! Burke knocked it out of the park with the narration again! I can not wait for the next books to be released!
