About this listen

Perennial USA TODAY & Amazon 3-million copy bestselling author DAVID ARCHER is at his peak in this suspenseful psychological mystery series!

Sam is dragged kicking and screaming into the one case he is certain will be his worst nightmare, as he is recruited to prove once and for all whether Beauregard is real, or a figment of his mother-in-law's imagination. The old ghost claims to know that his own descendants are in danger, but he doesn't know who they are or how to find them, so Sam is forced to delve into history to try to track them down.

The things he learns, however, make the mystery get even deeper, and leave Kim wondering about her own sanity! It all comes down to a race against time against forces that almost seem to be supernatural...

Solid, but predictable.

Like with most crime novels, the killer is introduced within the first 2 hours or so. I picked up on who the killer was after Daisy's passing. The motivation for the killings is what had me pulling my hair. The half sister goes crazy because dad is a drunk and misses his decease wife. She didn't get the affection she believed she deserved and start killing people. First by accident, got a rush and kept on keeping on. That's the story, so I'm knocking a star off. Narration was fine, nothing stood out, but that's also a good thing. 3.75 rounded up to 4 overall.
