Story
They were the gentlemen bad boys of rock. Forming in a garage in a small town in Indiana. Taking their licks on the road. Going balls to the wall until they made their big break. And then Preacher McCade and the Roadmasters redefined rock and roll. Guided by their tortured lead singer and songwriter, the Roadmasters changed the face of music in the '80s and '90s. And on their journey to becoming one of the most enduring bands in history - dogged by rumors and myth and fueled by drugs and booze - the Roadmasters had one touchstone.

Mixed emotions

I absolutely love Kristen Ashley, and will read ‘listen’ to anything she’ll put out there. I first listened to this one as a Freebie and didn’t decide upon that first listen to buy therefore be able to revisit this story, I just did that, and though the cadence is very different, it’s really a special story. I’m not going to recap the book cover, but If you haven’t given it a try, or if you’re like me and had to get beyond the cadence, either way it’s totally worth the dance. It’s outside the norm, but my eyes and my heart are now wide open.

This one made my heart squeeze and soar! My only complaint is a lack of a fabulous epilogue giving me more goodness! Excellent performance, premium story.

LitRPG = Literary Roll Playing Game

This book wasn't/ isn't for me. I'm not a Gamer, so readers beware. If you're not a Gamer then this book may not be for you either. It's interesting in the sense that the world building is interesting. It's annoying if you do not want to follow your main character through a video/ computer game. It got on my nerves. I returned it. Other's who game and or don't mind walking through a video game as they listen to a story may really enjoy it. It does have other great ratings. I just wasn't aware of what I was buying, I was looking for a new Sci Fi or Fantasy novel I could enjoy.

Another Excellent Mercy Thompson Book
Reviewed: 03-18-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely, as long as they've read the previous Mercy Thompson books. The story line has been compelling from the very beginning. For some reason I felt the story was a little stilted compared to the others, but I'll re-listen to it in another week or two and see if I feel the same way after round 2.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mercy and Adam are the two main characters, and have to be favorites. But I also really like Ben, he's evolving into a semi decent person (werewolf) but he's an ass, and reminds me of some of my friends who also have asshole tendencies :) Warren and Kyle are a great couple and hilarious, and Jessi is always fun. I could go on and on, but you may get it that I pretty much like the whole cast of characters.
Which scene was your favorite?
I liked it when Coyote pops back in the picture and Mercy draws the poisoned silver from Adam, I'd have loved to have seen his face at that moment.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
A couple, but I don't want to add a lot of spoilers to this review.
Any additional comments?
The whole series is well written and entertaining. And the spin off series with Charles starting with Alpha and Omega are well written and entertaining as well.

Classic Kay Hooper
Reviewed: 10-13-10
This is a classic Kay Hooper story, she has been on my favorite author list for a long while. This is the first of her books I've gotten on audio. A couple of complaints I've read in previous reviews, the story can be a little hard to follow, especially when you start with this book. There are several predecessors that introduced the majority of "players" in this book, and a lot of history... definitely start with her earlier works. I think that the narrator did pretty well considering the sheer number of characters, though I think it would have been easier to "listen to" with a couple of narrators. Other than that I have nothing bad to say, I'm sure I'll listen to the story again, though I am tempted to dust off all of the paperbacks of the previous stories, and start over.
