Story
Nahri has never believed in magic. Certainly, she has power; on the streets of 18th-century Cairo, she’s a con woman of unsurpassed talent. But she knows better than anyone that the trades she uses to get by - palm readings, zars, and a mysterious gift for healing - are all tricks, both the means to the delightful end of swindling Ottoman nobles and a reliable way to survive. But when Nahri accidentally summons Dara, an equally sly, darkly mysterious djinn warrior, to her side during one of her cons, she’s forced to reconsider her beliefs.

Story
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

It was a bit too slow. I liked the characters and the setup but it dragged for quite a while. Not sure if I will purchase the next one or not...

Story
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway - a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors.

I enjoyed the story but...
Reviewed: 11-25-22
The story is very enjoyable, however, why do so many characters need to sound like Tigger? it is hard to hear how sweet Poppet is when my brain is hearing characters from 100 Acre Woods. I like the readers voice for narration but the characters.
I thought the characters sounded better by the end.
Overall, it is a sweet, enjoyable story. A bit predictable at the end but tied together very nicely. Definitely word a read/listen.

Story
Creativity, Inc. is a manual for anyone who strives for originality and the first-ever all-access trip into the nerve center of Pixar Animation - into the meetings, postmortems, and “Braintrust” sessions where some of the most successful films in history are made. It is, at heart, a book about creativity - but it is also, as Pixar cofounder and president Ed Catmull writes, “an expression of the ideas that I believe make the best in us possible”.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
With The Alloy of Law, Brandon Sanderson surprised listeners with a New York Times best-selling spinoff of his Mistborn audiobooks, set after the action of the trilogy, in a period corresponding to late 19th-century America. The trilogy's heroes are now figures of myth and legend, even objects of religious veneration. They are succeeded by wonderful new characters, chief among them Waxillium Ladrian, known as Wax, hereditary lord of House Ladrian.

Story
The metropolis of New Crobuzon sprawls at the center of the world. Humans and mutants and arcane races brood in the gloom beneath its chimneys, where the river is sluggish with unnatural effluent and foundries pound into the night. For a thousand years, the Parliament and its brutal militias have ruled over a vast economy of workers and artists, spies and soldiers, magicians, crooks, and junkies. Now a stranger has arrived, with a pocketful of gold and an impossible demand. And something unthinkable is released.

Bored out of my mind
Reviewed: 02-08-21
I have listed to half the book and nothing has really happened... The narrator is about average. It may just be the content. He does use some different inflections for different characters so he is better than many. I tried reading this year's ago so I thought I would try this again. Every time, it feels like so little actually matters. I finally decided to move on.

A nice wrap up but very predictable
Reviewed: 01-25-21
The plot was predictable. It really could only have gone one of two ways at the end... overall, it was okay. I liked the final wrap up.
Will Wheaton is a tough one for me. I like the guy but he just reads it. There are no character voices (except one at the end which was weird), and he reads it like everything else he does. It works for a majority of the story as it is all told my the protagonist but it could have been better.
