About this listen

After concluding their first year at Lorian Heights, Corin and his friends catch a train from their native Valia to the distant country of Caelford.

For most, this would be a simple vacation. Corin has other plans:

  • Meet Anabelle Farren, the eccentric owner of Farren Labs, and learn about artificial attunements.
  • Seek out Warren Constantine, a previous Arbiter, for training and a potential alliance.
  • Find the visage Ferras herself to seek a cure for Sera's condition.

Of course, Corin is Corin, and there's absolutely no chance he's going to be able to stick to a list. Even if he miraculously developed a sense of focus, he isn't the only one with plans....

The Blackstone Bandit. Everyone's favorite mysterious book entity. The aforementioned Farren. A vacationing professor. The mirror of a figure from Keras' past. When their plots intersect, Corin and his friends are, predictably, stuck at the center.

It's going to be a long vacation.

It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. It’s all coming together

I can’t remember the last time I was so excited for a book to hit my library! I will say this book was a little different than AA 1 and 2. It seemed to me like a crossover. If you haven’t read The War of Broken Mirrors and Weapons and Wielders yet read them first. It will really make you appreciate this book so much more. There are a lot of little things that you will absolutely love of you have the relationship with the previous characters.
When a certain red head comes in I literally did a little squeal.
I’m so excited to get the next book in Andrew Rowe’s universe no matter which series it’s in.
Nick of course is a master as always! Top notch.
This book really gave him lots of little ways to show his narrative powers.
Basically if you like Rowe you will love this reshing book. Read it now. If this isn’t your style you are missing out. Keep it up Rowe

anybody got a time machine I can borrow?

I hate that I found this series before it was finished. I just want to listen to it all the way through. I don't have the patience to wait until the next book comes out.
I'm a huge fan of the magic system and the main characters want to delve into everything. I'll admit I got slightly confused with how the system works once it got into more detail but still. love the book. love the series. can't wait for the next one.

A magical third installment.

Absolutely wonderful, the book is lengthy in describing functions of the world around but this data ties in beautifully. I absolutely can't wait for this story to continue.

Next

That is the most cliffhanger book ending I've ever heard. When does the next book come out?!?! Lots of things come together nicely in this book and it also opens up some interesting new questions and paths for future books. Definitely read the first two of the Six Sacred Swords books before this book. (only two out at time of this review) War of Broken Mirrors series would help with some background but it is not as necessary. I'm already sold and ready for the next book now.

A fun Fantasy Romping series

I have loved every entry of this series as well as its companion series. great sense of humor and fun evolving world building. No angsty teen drama just adventure. Nick Poedhel does a great job narrating. I cannot wait for more.

Not as good as the other books.

This book was fantastic, but it lacked the suspense and action that the last 2 had. It’s like the author got bored of action and just wanted to focus on the characters as well as go into beyond extreme detail about how they conversed and how they went about their days. Overall it was great, but there was no suspense at the end and almost no questions were answered.

A bit uneventful.

If you liked the first books this is more of the same. It felt a bit heavy on mechanical description of enchantment, which was okay but dragged certain parts. Overall I liked it, but I'm hoping for a bit more conflict or drama in the story to come.

Very busy but stagnant story arc

I have liked the series but this book felt more like running in place. The characters spent too much of the story in a dungeon or trial. The overall story didn't seem to progress. Maybe it was all setup but it felt stuck...

good but not great

I guess after 3 books I expected the characters to be further along. but I still enjoyed the story overall. also magic in this world is starting to get a bit complicated especially with some of Corrin's new spells.
