This was a fantastic conclusion to the John Cleaver series. Kirby Heyborne’s narration is absolutely perfect as always. I’m sad to finish book 6, but very satisfied with the wrap up. Highly recommend this entire series, which starts with I am Not a Serial Killer.

Such a natural storyteller. Her writing flows so well in this book and the characters embody real traits. So many thrillers today and too far fetched to feel relatable in any way. What Happened to Nina instantly pulls you in. I finished listening in 2 days and loved the poignant ending. Can’t wait for her next!

Story
In a cottage overlooking the windswept Maine coast, Wilder Harlow has begun the last book he will ever write. It is the story about the sun-drenched summer days of his youth in Whistler Bay, and the blood-stained path of the killer that stalked his small vacation town. About the terrible secret he and his companions, Nat and Harper, discovered entombed in the coves off the bay. And how the pact they swore that day echoed down the decades, forever shaping their lives.

Loved Last House on Needless Street and Little Eve. Catriona Ward is a master at complex dark fiction. I found this one confusing at times, with characters whose names change and a plot that jumps back and forward in time quite a bit. Poor Wilder just couldn’t catch a break :(
Richly developed and atmospheric. Interesting premise kept me hanging in there, and it does all come together in the end. The writing is excellent. So was the narration.

Gripping story in the traditional Grisham style but with female lead roles. Really enjoyed it, fast paced and finished it in about 4 days. I see a lot of reviews rather harsh on narration - no it is not the Michael Beck voice we’re all accustomed to - but it works well for this book and I settled into it fine after the first couple chapters. Recommend!
