Watch Will Trent on ABC!

Will Trent and Sara Linton are back! This is the eleventh electrifying thriller featuring GBI investigator Will Trent and medical examiner Sara Linton from New York Times bestselling author Karin Slaughter.

After that night, nothing was ever the same again.

Fifteen years ago, Sara Linton’s life changed forever when a celebratory night out ended in a violent attack that tore her world apart. Since then, Sara has remade her life. A successful doctor, engaged to a man she loves, she has finally managed to leave the past behind her.

Until one evening, on call in the ER, everything changes. Sara battles to save a broken young woman who’s been brutally attacked. But as the investigation progresses, led by GBI Special Agent Will Trent, it becomes clear that Dani Cooper’s assault is uncannily linked to Sara’s.

And it seems the past isn’t going to stay buried forever.

Great!

Another excellent book in the Will Trent series. I always look forward to the scenes with Amanda - the best side character in the series imho.

Best one yet….but

But isn’t the latest one always your favorite? We get to know Sara better, Will better, Amanda better. I found some nice nuances to Amanda’s character to be pleasant. We get to see some high-powered folks do some wicked stuff. There’s always something wicked in a Will Trent book, but this one really hits different. If you loved books 1-10, you wont want to miss the latest. If you’ve never read Will Trent could this be a stand alone? Yeah…probably. But why would you want to come in at book 11? So start with book 1, it’s truly much much better that way. Thanks Mrs Slaughter for yet another escape into some really good writing.

Kate Murphy makes an appearance

I couldn’t edit my previous review, so as a side note to it…..

The first Karin Slaughter nook I read was Cop Town. A true stand aline as nothing else she has written reprises anything from the book until now! The lead in Cop Town, Kate Murphy returns. It’s subtle and may be missed, but she’s back as Aden’s mom. Just a tidbit from the past. But none the less, I feel KS slipped her in to remind us just how far back in the time line she can go to bring everything full circle and intertwine all of her stories.

I need the next book already!

Karin Slaughter writes the best thriller novels. Her Will Trent series has captured me since I was a teenager. She has the best narration for her books too. This story was so raw and the trauma and emotions were very well written and performed by Kathleen early. This book is a must for listeners!

Weaving things together

I'm a huge KS fan and I've been waiting so the next installment of Will and Sara. This book did not disappoint. I love how this book tells the story from Sara's past and how it ties into her present life. It was graphic at times but I didn't feel like it was over the top. Keep up the good work KS! Props to Kathleen Early - she is a fantastic narrator!

SO ENGROSSING! (But LOTS of Profanity)…

I am a huge Karin Slaughter fan — she certainly didn’t disappoint with this novel!

I can’t say enough good things about the narrator, Kathleen Early — she MAKES the story, just as she has the other Karin Slaughter novels! I’m so glad that unlike so many other novels and series, the narrator hasn’t changed several times. I can’t imagine the “Will Trent” series being narrated by ANYONE else but Ms. Early. She has a distinctive and versatile voice. I especially love her character, Amanda!

The story line in this book at times was hard to take — it’s hard to believe some human beings could possibly be so awful to another human being, much less multiple human beings. But, that’s what makes Ms. Slaughter’s book’s SO DARN GOOD! She can dream up story plots that most of us couldn’t in our wildest dreams!

The story felt a little bogged down as Faith was trying to sort out suspects with her 001—007 system, but it was a process of elimination that made sense to her as a cop I suppose.

For those who are offended by profanity, there is a LOT of it in this book. If it bothers you, this novel may not be for you. If so, that’s unfortunate, because it’s a heck of an engrossing story. While I TRIED to pace myself, I devoured it in less than two days time.

Thank you Ms. Slaughter and Ms. Early for another wonderful listening experience!

I sure hope the next Will/Sarah/Faith novel begins with Will and Sarah’s wedding — maybe during their honeymoon they will stumble on a horrendous murder scene. (:

Great story line!

It’s a wonderful storyline, I’m glad Sarah Linton was able to be a part of the investigation that led to her rape and uncover atrocities by her oppressor.
