Story
Frank Szatowski is shocked when his daughter, Maggie, calls him for the first time in three years. He was convinced that their estrangement would become permanent. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding in New Hampshire. Frank is ecstatic, and determined to finally make things right. He arrives to find that the wedding is at a private estate—very secluded, very luxurious, very much out of his league. It seems that Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a famous tech billionaire.

📖 Book Review 📖
The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak
I listened to this on audio 🎧 non-stop. Binged it like a season of FRIENDS in 2 days. And not just because the story captivated me but because @john.pirhalla narrated this gem and his voice is just amazing!
Idk if I would’ve titled this book what the author did, bc to me, it doesn’t seem like it fits just right.
This is about the best dad in the world, Frank, a UPS driver of 26 years, accident free in all that time, and his daughter, Maggie. Maggie gets into some scrapes and seems like the opposite of Frank but she’s getting married and invites her dad to the wedding. This is where Frank starts unraveling the truth and lies and we begin to see what all Maggie has gotten herself into.
Like I said, it’s a riveting tale and I was about to give this story a full 5 ⭐️ until I got to the very end. This is where I felt like: 1. The ending was very rushed and 2. The ending did not come to a sufficient close as I thought. It’s definitely over but I feel like I don’t have any closure and that saddens me. Therefore, I’ll give this 4 ⭐️ instead. The ending I’ll rate 1 ⭐️ 😂
Have yall read this yet? What did you think?

Story
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Story
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

As one of the few witches in Britain, Mika Moon knows she has to hide her magic, keep her head down, and stay away from other witches so their powers don’t mingle and draw attention. And as an orphan who lost her parents at a young age and was raised by strangers, she’s used to being alone and she follows the rules...with one exception: an online account, where she posts videos "pretending" to be a witch. She thinks no one will take it seriously.

Story
The year was 1917. As a war raged across the world, young American women flocked to work, painting watches, clocks, and military dials with a special luminous substance made from radium. It was a fun job, lucrative and glamorous - the girls themselves shone brightly in the dark, covered head to toe in the dust from the paint. They were the radium girls. As the years passed, the women began to suffer from mysterious and crippling illnesses.

Story
Alexis Spencer thinks she has it all figured out. Even when life gets her down, she’s never too far away from another inspirational quote to rationalize her failures and ignore all her problems. Her boyfriend breaks it off, she loses her job, her closest friends are a distant memory, and her college debt is still as high as the day she left. In typical fashion, she blames the world for her problems, including her 18-year-old self who should have just tried harder and put their life on a better track.
