Story
Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

a good break from stale cliches and hilarious on top of it

from beginner to end the whole series doesn't disappoint. it is a nice break from the thousands of magic ship/ space marine/ super AI books littered everywhere. The characters, down to the morally repulsive and evil are extremely likeable and it manages to be very much story driven even when the story is secondary to just listening to the characters interact with each other. absolutely recommend

Story
Piloted by a six-year-old girl, the godlike Skalm guards the Districts of TASC. Her family is long dead. Her adopted father is a synthetic copy of an alien, her nanny an artificial mind connected via subspace to every part of the globe, feeding the young girl information, finding prey to satiate her growing thirst. But the young girl is an innocent, a victim, one of millions the war has already claimed.

here's a story that doesn't overstay it's welcome. it manages to wrap the story nicely without needlessly filling books with exposition to kill time and pages (looking at you expeditionary force). And yes, you can fault the ending somewhat for a little bit of deus ex machina ploying, but it's still a nice execution, and a good ending to a good trilogy.

Story
Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. However, his perseverance has not gone unnoticed, and when the most powerful artificial intelligence in human history takes an interest in him, things began to change quickly.

it honestly feels like a video game made Into a book. which sounds counter intuitive. but I guess it's all about the execution. and in this case, it's executed perfectly. I've listened to 10 hour books that last me for a week and feels like a month. at over 30 hours I kept wanting more. first time since the first couple of hell diver books that I've actually groaned out loud " nooo!" when I heard it was over. absolutely try it.
