About this listen

A predator hunts the skies over Earth. Its intent is peaceful, and its mission is essential, but it is the deadliest machine humanity has ever created.

Piloted by a six-year-old girl, the godlike Skalm guards the Districts of TASC. Her family is long dead. Her adopted father is a synthetic copy of an alien, her nanny an artificial mind connected via subspace to every part of the globe, feeding the young girl information, finding prey to satiate her growing thirst.

But the young girl is an innocent, a victim, one of millions the war has already claimed. Her innocence has been sacrificed by a man with singular purpose: a man who will stop at nothing in order to prepare Earth for the coming conflict.

The armada is approaching, its far-off engines now bright as stars in the night sky. They mean to kill us. They have the power to do so. And as oblivion's maw opens up to engulf us, we brace ourselves for battle.

We will fight to the last. Live or die, we will leave a scar upon our attackers that will last an age, even if we ourselves do not.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and more or less felt comfortable with the morality of The major protagonist in this series. It's certainly a very chaotic version of earth.

I was genuinely caught off guard by the manner in which some characters were cast aside. Apparently largely in part because of some scurrilous activities that we're surprised to learn of at the time of their disappearance. Nevertheless the author manages to bookend the series without leaving many loose ends. This book was much more emotionally charged than the first two at the expense of logic, reason, science & etc. I think the door is left open for another installment or spinoff. Highly recommended

RC Bray puts in another solid performance.

IF you have Not READ The First Two Books Then STOP !! Finally a series that captures The Imagination and fuses it with a plausible Reality . I don't Normally write Reviews but this series deserves it. The only negative I have is Maybe a sense of Rush to conclude this book by zipping thru the final battle after such a buildup and leaving an opening that is going to Drive you crazy waiting for the next Book this series is worth every penny.I hope you enjoy as much as I did. be sure to listen to the orphan chapter at the end or miss the possibility of whats to come.

Sci-fi that captures from the start.

After reading the Martian and this series I am defining a new category of science fiction, Engineering fiction. It's very exciting as a scientist to read things that have a basis in fact- extrapolated to amazing fiction.

This was a fantastically fun read!

Such a unique adventure!

Great epic. This stores is multi faceted and engaging. It's long, but I wish it was longer.

And, as always, RC Bray performs flawlessly.

Utterly Engaging Series

This is a great third book in this trilogy. I really hope we see a new series that goes further into this universe.

The narrator was great. The story over the whole trilogy was amazing! This book deals with the final confrontation and gives a closer look at the invaders culture. New weapons of great power shape the battlefield that dwarf even the once invulnerable agents. The pace and detail makes for a fun read.

Top of my list of favorites

At times this was the most wordy of the three books, trying to describe and convey concepts and realities that are so distant and alien to our world today that it needed a chapter here or there just to picture and explain. That said, I love this book. I love the trilogy. One of my favorite collections. I highly recommend this trilogy to any scifi fan. And, the narration was perfect. Great performance by R C Bray.

Wish it never ended

What a great series! I honestly wish it wasn't over… Stephen moss is an amazing writer, and this is the second series that R.C. Bray has narrated (The other one being the Martian) that I have listened to, his voice is perfect for narration.

Great story! Listen to them all and you truly won't be disappointed.
