The End Was Pretty Good
Reviewed: 07-07-24
The climatic ending was pretty good, but it took a long time to get there. The rest of the story was not really believable and went on forever.

Great Audible Performance
Reviewed: 04-02-24
The Audible performance was top notch. However the storyline was overly predictable and left so many things untied which makes me think that the author possibly couldn’t work out her storyline herself either.

Story
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Amazing Historical Fiction Novel

I loved so many things in this book. The plot line made me want to research WWII while keeping me interested in the book, my heart is full of emotion upon concluding it. I loved the reader and audio voice. I rarely give a 5 star rating but this deserves it. I don’t know how the author did this. Sooooo much research and then to have these thoughts. Wow!

In Wishful Drinking, Carrie Fisher tells the true and intoxicating story of her life with inimitable wit. Born to celebrity parents, she was picked to play a princess in a little movie called Star Wars when only 19 years old. "But it isn't all sweetness and light sabers."

Big Let Down
Reviewed: 02-13-24
Full of herself, unrelatable, and basically just a bunch of name dropping of celebrities. I think the most distasteful part is bringing up of others flaws. It’s fine to talk about your own, but leave others out of it….and not even a little funny or entertaining.

Great Book! For kids and adults
Reviewed: 04-07-23
Love this book. Listened with my 9 year old daughter and followed along with the book. She enjoyed the emojis and layout of the actual book and had gotten her book autographed by Lee at a book signing. Highly recommend for kids 9 and up. For younger kids it may be too scary in parts. Something for adults to think about too.

Story
For the last several years, Penn and Kim Holderness of The Holderness Family have done the hard maintenance and the research to learn how to fight better. With the help of their marriage coach Dr. Christopher Edmonston, they break down their biggest (and in some cases, funniest) fights. How did a question about chicken wings turn into a bra fight (no, not a bar fight; a bra fight)? How did a roll of toilet paper lead to tears, resentment, and a stint in the guest bedroom?

Love this couple and hearing them tell their own story. The storyline was a four star for me because some of it seemed a little too perfect however their performance raises it to a five star easily.

This was a great book to listen to with my daughter. We followed along in the book too so we could see the illustrations. It was funny and short but also meaningful.
My only recommendation is the regular speed was a little slow for our taste so we increased it to 1.2x.
