About this listen

He really just likes to liven things up at school -- and he's always had plenty of great ideas. When Nick learns some interesting information about how words are created, suddenly he's got the inspiration for his best plan ever: the frindle. Who says a pen has to be called a pen? Why not call it a frindle? Things begin innocently enough as Nick gets his friends to use the new word. Then other people in town start saying frindle. Soon the school is in an uproar, and Nick has become a local hero. His teacher wants Nick to put an end to all this nonsense, but the funny thing is frindle doesn't belong to Nick anymore. The new word is spreading across the country, and there's nothing Nick can do to stop it.©2009 Simon & Schuster; 1998 Andrew Clements Chapter Books & Readers Classics Early Readers Fiction Humorous Fiction Literature & Fiction Funny Comedy Witty

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I listened to this book while driving my 15 year old to a youth conference. I picked it out for my 9 year old boy who accompanied us on the 4 hour drive. My 15 year old usually listens to his own music, but he had liked this story so much when he was younger, he decided to listen along with us and that is saying something. I enjoyed the story and am proud to say that a word I invented when I was a teenager is still used in my own community. It is a nickname for the local college.

Great for kids!

Nick is a 5th grader who loves words and is fascinated with how dictionaries come into being. He wants to see if he can get everyone called a pen a "frindle." His teacher, Ms. Granger, believes that it is all a silly distraction. This battle of wills is a funny, sweet story. I loved it.

a classic story for the whole family

I think this book 📚 is very interesting. And the book 📚 is all about nick and mrs granger in 5 grade my favorite part is when everything and everyone is crazy 😜 about frindle my favorite character is Nicholas Allen Who is VERY HILARIOUS 😂. One thing I like about mrs granger is that her eyes 👀 can drill hole in you when her eyes 👀 are at full power they can also be very sharp also she still smiles a lot and her eyes 👀 can be really bright.i think 💭 that this 📚 should be a bestselling kids book 📚.EZRA 7 CHARLOTTESVILLE Virginia 🤑🤑🤑

We love listening to audiobooks on road trips. My 2nd grader enjoyed this book (1.5 hours) in one sitting. She even said, “that ended well!”

Great, short read!
