Story
The Men on the Sixth Floor has charted a new course in the research of the JFK assassination. Containing fascinating, never before seen documents, the JFK book was a major focus of Nigel Turner's History Channel Documentary - "The Men Who Killed Kennedy/The Guilty Men" in 2003. But legal action was threatened by LBJ associates, leading to the banning of further sales or broadcasting of the program. "The Men on the Sixth Floor" was the first book to introduce Malcolm Wallace to the assassination community. It was the first Jfk conspiracy book to tie Wallace to the owner of the Texas School ...

Seems like Sawyer can't get a whole plot done in one book. I've enjoyed most of his trilogies but his standalone novels like this one are half-baked and unsatisfying. This feels like the first third of a decent story.

For 30 years humanity struggled to cope with the brilliants, the one percent of people born with remarkable gifts. For 30 years we tried to avoid a devastating civil war. We failed.
The White House is a smoking ruin. Madison Square Garden is an internment camp. In Wyoming, an armed militia of thousands marches toward a final, apocalyptic battle.

Story
It started as a routine Miami to Charlotte flight for the passengers, crew, and Federal Air Marshal Stephen Mason. But a freak storm over the Atlantic propels the airliner unexplainably back in time to the early 18th century. They find themselves on the sparsely populated coast of the Carolina Colony. Charles Town is the only English settlement of any size in the area. It's an inhospitable place of vast plantations, slavery, hostile natives, tall ships, and marauding pirates.

I always like Sawyer's plots but always cringe at some of his phraseology. A few mispronunciations by the readers also pulled me out of the story. (But you'd have to be a real nut to consider any of it leftist propaganda. )

Story
A groundbreaking, explosive account of the Kennedy assassination that will rewrite the history of the 20th century's most controversial murder investigation. The questions have haunted our nation for half a century: Was the President killed by a single gunman? Was Lee Harvey Oswald part of a conspiracy? Did the Warren Commission discover the whole truth of what happened on November 22, 1963? Philip Shenon, a veteran investigative journalist who spent most of his career at The New York Times, finally provides many of the answers.

Exhaustive and exhausting

A very thoroughly researched book, long on details. It's all interesting; could have been trimmed a lot. The author makes several jumps of logic and conjecture not supported by the evidence, but compelling and possible. Any conjecture that supports his thesis is presented as ironclad, any that doesn't is poopooed as impossible.
Still, the forensics investigation is convincing and the story of the day is very well told. 👍

Story
On November 22, 1963, Dr. Charles Crenshaw, an accomplished surgeon, tried to save John F. Kennedy's life - and then days later, the life of the alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald. His gripping, firsthand account contradicts the Warren Commission and years of public misperception, and illuminates a chapter in American history long cloaked in conspiracy. Writing with eye-opening immediacy, Dr. Crenshaw takes listeners into the emergency room to share the critical events at Parkland Hospital as he lived them.

It took a lot of guts to release this account. Everyone knows that the handling of the President's body and the forensic evidence in Texas was shady, and hearing this first-person recounting reaffirms it.
The writing is sometimes melodramatic, and some of the extrapolation are stretches, but I believe what the doctor says he saw.
